for a young lad i thought he looked a good prospect
maybe he has been surpassed by matt mainwaring, but to be honest, the 45 mins i saw of mainwaring agen rotherham were nowt special

Still no deal offered as far as I know.

Burnsy asked Pearson about him, mainly because he'd said they weren't offering deals to any of the trialists, yet he still seemed to be on trial.

Pearson said he hadn't been offered a deal, but they were still looking at him and he hadn't included him in the trialists that weren't being offered a deal, as he's a youth player, rather than someone who'd contribute to the first team immediately.

makes sense. Although i have to say that out of recent crop of one match wonders, i think he looks the best prospect, and emphasise - prospect. I just wonder what Derby didnt see in him that Mr Pearson does! Money or incentives perhaps?

Doesn't have to be either Mussie.

I remember someone called Peter Beardsley. Turned down by Carlisle and Man Utd. Money/incentives, or very perculiar mouth?

    Whatever became of him?

I think I read somewhere that he asked to be released from the remainder of his youth contract as opposed to Derby releasing him. Maybe, he thought he could advance quicker at a different club.

A comment on Kealan Dillon from a Derby forum - He was called in to the irish u19 squad @ 17 years old and yet he was not getting any game time, why you ask ?? i say ask the coach ?? and although he had 2 years to run on contract he asked to be released for the sake of his football future. Since then he received servel offers from clubs who were looking for him when he chose Derby, he went to Slovina with the irish team came back went to hull on trial they were impressed signed him up ( not for the youths ) and he has played 3 full reserve games and scored in one. Derby's loss seems to be Hulls gain.

He's a bit previous with the stuff about us signing him up, but he seems quite impressed with the lad.

if he signed as a 'kid', he would automatically be our brightest prospect. I just cant believe Derby let him go unless there are complications such as attitude, money or compensation issues unreported.
