We're watching L1 football through PL eyes ...

... I enjoy seeing us play and always want the young lads to make it.

Heaven knows there's not been that many.

Players like Winchester come into a totally new set up, with new team mates, and are written off in minutes.

Think that first line is very close to the mark Smug.
I've thought from day one when we dropped into this league that some fans think we have a god given right to blow teams away every week and give little credit to the resolve these clubs have.
We are were we are cos it's our fault, the management of this club has been horrendous for a decade or so but that's another story which were hopefully going to put to bed very shortly.OaU

Totally agreed mate we have a Diamond in the making of that lad , he has pace audacity and vision, by the time we manage to get into the prem he will be the finished article if we can hang on to him, and with the new owners i hope they can see the value of keeping homegrown talent like Jordan Henderson instead of moving on for cash.

Looking at this again I think Power can manage to play left back if he has O'Nien in front of him.

Also, how unlucky is O'Brien for the first goal ...

... cleverly chests the ball down for Gooch, never stops running, keeps onside and just waiting to tap it in.

I thought he was okay, as as been said he is still learning. When Hume first played he was a bit naive etc. Same with Diamond, he needs game time, but them with Jones coming into the club and with McGeady they will spilt time and if one is not on song bring the other one one.

Last night he deserved the 90 minutes.

The pitch was poor last night but we coped well with it ...

... it might be worse on Saturday if we get more rain.

If this match is called off I'll go over the edge, seriously.

Through all my life's ups and downs the one constant has been my love for SAFC.

Now, just when things are looking up the matches are being called off, the EFL can't organise a cup draw and I can't get back to see my latest grandson.

Daniel Joshua Scott, born at 11.08am this morning, mother and new Sunderland supporter both doing well.

Shame about the footy mate regarding it may be off. Totally agree as well whenever we appear to be on the up something comes along to bite us on the arse.
Congratulations to you all on SAFCs latest fan.

Congratulations Smug. Important question to ask, is little Daniel left footed or right footed? Or do you think he'll be a goalie?

The Black Cats made it through to the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy for the second time in three seasons after a 3-0 win against MK Dons.
The draw will take place tomorrow night, February 5th at 7.45pm on Sky Sports, and the Wearsiders will be ball number three.

Sunderland will face one of the following three sides; Lincoln City, Oxford United and Tranmere Rovers.

Lee Johnson's side are just one win away from playing under the Wembley arch once again.

As things stand, the ties are pencilled in to be played on February 16th/17th.

    Cards on the table.

I know this may not be a popular point of view but I want us to win the semi final, go to Wembley and win the trophy. I'd make a day of it and ignore the fact we can't be there. As far as I'm concerned any chance to see Sunderland win at Wembley is fine whether it's the EFL trophy or the under 11's.

    Haway the Lads, it's a lockdown ...

    ... win the f*****g thing <laugh>
