We desperately needed an injection of pace and enthusiasm. I think we've got that.

More important may be who we've moved on.

Moving the un-G force of Griggs and Graham out, is something I thought would be hard, well done. A back up LB, winger and striker and a midfielder all good work. Now we see how they perform

    Agreed.

I think (and hope) Vokins will be a starting LB. At least until Denver is back and up to speed.

I've been stung before by being too optimistic over players I know nowt about, so I'm going to wait and see! On the face of it, it seems to be good business. We needed some pace out wide, and Jones sounds like quite a coup for this level. Know nowt about the others. You'd have to assume that the left back is decent if Southampton had him as their main back up to Bertrand for half a season, they must be confident that he could handle games in the top flight if he had to. Need to see more of Winchester, but hopefully he means leadbitter can get a rest sometimes and, with Power at RB, this should mean O'Nien can play in the middle (we need someone with energy who is prepared to get forward).

Stewart again is an unknown quantity but he'd struggle to be worse than Grigg and Graham, so I'm happy enough that he's getting a try. Also think there might be times he operates from the left. Against teams that don't give us space there might be times where we opt to try and get delivery in from the right (diamond and power can both put decent balls in) and maybe having a threat in the air coming in off the left might help as he'll be hard to pick up. Wyke goes near post, he goes far.

Wish we'd done something with the keeper but can't really complain, and delighted with the ones we've got out of the door. I just hope the left back and striker are good, if they are then we can get automatic, and I'm sure Jones will be a threat.

    Well said, all of a sudden there's a ...

    ... err, sudden change.

If Short had brought in someone like KLD we could've been top 6 by now.

Still, this could be a wonderful time to be alive.

Do I drop even further if I add "no one will be happier than I am if they're all class"?

Nah I just think on the face of it, it seems like very good business. I just don't want to say it when I haven't seen anything of most of the signings. I thought Mcfadzean was going to be really good, and Grigg, and if you look back I think I even said I was positive about the return of Danny Graham (experience, works hard, will hold the ball up well, will chip in with goals). To be fair I do trust that we've actually got a process and some data behind our signings now, which is a refreshing change.

To be fair mate, you're spot on.

I always hope our signings/managers/owners will work out.

I even managed to convince myself Chopra wouldn't be a bellend <doh>

It’s been a very good window. There seems to be a plan, which is weird.
We’ve certainly got the players to finish top two. If only LJ can find the right eleven.
Saturday will start to give us some idea.
I reckon we’ll be top two sometime in March.
Oh and we had to put our black cat to sleep today.
(Black and white really). So tonight was for him.

Oh thats ****ty. RIP Brainman's cat. Horrible when that happens, but I'm sure you gave him a good life and he'll be chowing down on some fish somewhere thanking you for it.
