Placheta in for Buendia, no other changes. McLean makes the bench, presumably not quite fit enough to start. Was hoping he could, but otherwise just nice to be relatively close to full strength - especially on the bench.
It could be that DF felt that Kenny wouldn't be able to play two games in four days. He could come on as sub tonight then start against Swansea.
Hardly persisting with Rupp, he played the cup game and last match against Boro but before that he was injured and at the start of the season he was one of our better players. Having said that I would have liked to have seen Sorensen alongside Skipp if McLean isn’t fully fit as they could both do the job of filling in at left back if Gianoulis bombs forward
Maybe it was a hangover from last season, Rupp was bought and appeared to be undroppable in a side that lost nearly every game. I would like to see Rupp succeed but he's one of our biggest earners and I haven’t seen much from him. We do have a big game on Friday as Rick suggested so I can see the logic in resting McLean today.
IMO Hernandez would have been preferable to Placheta. He's much better integrated into our style of play, also quick, and no more wasteful of chances than Placheta is.
At least we still have Emi, Max and Todd after the transfer window. But it's starting to look scarily like a three-horse race, just like 18-19, except this time I'm scared we might be cast in the role of Leeds. Let's hope not. COYY!
He has. He disrupts the rhythm rather than orchestrates it. Let's see Dowell in there; or even McLean.
