As the great Tom Petty sang "Here Comes My Girl". Bet365 already has odds for the race. Obviously the big favourite is The Worlds End (5/4) and then her (5/2). I am very surprised by the odds on Ange Des Malberaux (33/1), he was running a great race until he hit and unseated rider at Ludlow in the race that Hazel Hill won thirteen days ago. I've already said I'm happy for her to qualify and come back safe and sound. Don't burst the bubble please. And one more thing, to appreciate the big change in this year's Hunters' Chase, last year only five horses ran this race, this year will be running eighteen.
It’s all to do with the lack of point to points, a massive shame for the amateur aspect to the sport. Makes it more irksome when you see big yards having runners in these races.
This one may need A Touch Of Luck to break her duck but on looking at her last race here I think she is better than she has shown and the drop in trip should be ideal, especially if she can learn to settle. A Frankel filly out of a mare by Peintre Celebre, she cost 90k Guineas as a yearling and appears to have been brought on gently having not seen a racecourse until last summer. Worth the risk at 15/2
Bloody Hell. Was 15/2 when I started to post. Now down to 11/2 best price, even 7/2 with PP Not sure what is going on there
I said I was surprised that Ange Des Malberaux opened at 33/1 but then many bookies had him at 50/1-66/1 and now it seems they have realised their mistake and only bet365 holds his 33/1 from the start and the other bookmakers have him at 28/1-25/1. Those who have bet him at 66/1-50/1 have made a great bet in my opinion even though there are only three places.
Warwick 1.30 Bardd Form at the track reads 34326 Todays rider Page Fuller was 2nd on him one year ago at Warwick. Handicap mark is attractive. Acts on soft. Could run well today on 3rd run over fences at big odds.
12.55 Admiral Balko Jane Williams has a fine record at Warwick over the last 5 seasons: Hurdles: Runs 6 Wins 4 Placed 0 PL 20.75 This horse surely will improve after a good second on heavy at Bangor last time out.
Then again Drifted out to 6s. A weird pattern. I'm guessing someone went in heavily last night and something has gone wrong. But actually clueless
Starshiba a big market mover at Kempton 17.25. Not surprising as he won going away on this course over 7f. That was a decent time and he carries 11lb less today. The extra furlong should be no problem on that evidence. 7/4 generally available but 5/2 with 888
Still hasn't learned to settle. Interesting that at the stage in her previous race where she made rapid smooth progress, she came under pressure. Came with a late run but was left with far too much to do. Notes Based on the way this filly made rapid smooth progress to take up the running in previous run and the way she ran on late today despite being under pressure early, I'm convinced this filly has a race in her. They just need to fathom out how to ride her and her optimum distance. She can't go any lower than a Class 6 It was 81 days since a run which may explain the coming under pressure rather early Watch out for a quick return to the track, especially with a different jockey Change of trainer and jockey will be worth noting
