Exactly how many people do you employ in this way, and what are their footballing qualifications? There must be a lot because the reports they give you extend into the lowest depths of non-league football as well as into our Div One rivals, and there are several dozen lower leagues with many hundreds of clubs and thousands of players, yet you seem to have good info on all of them.
Which is why they have only won one of their last six league matches? I agree. If anything we have been a little too respectful of our opponents especially when trying to defend a lead by retreating too deep or crippling our attack by bringing on Hughes or Docherty to replace a forward and handing the initiative to the visitors. So why do you think we would start doing it now, especially after a sharp (and perhaps timely) reminder of our limitations on Wednesday? Maybe it is because I have been following Charlton since forever, whereas many posters here have only known years of struggle and humiliation, but I am concerned that every team we face at home becomes a massive hurdle to overcome: Bournemouth "... will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season" present position 20th (two points clear of a relegation spot) S****horpe "played Championship last season, still have a strong squad, definite promotion rivals" present position 15th (four points off a relegation spot) Exeter City "great manager, good football, will be hard to beat" present position second bottom Chesterfield "on a roll after their promotion, outsiders for promotion again" present position 16th, 3 points off relegation. Come on guys, don't give their managers' pep talk for them. We should be confident (but not over-confident) of beating these sorts of teams at home. Sometimes it won't happen and we will drop points, but don't start getting your excuses ready in advance by hyping these teams up. None of them are rubbish, but they are all distinctly limited. And so are Tranmere. Have the years of humiliation deprived us of all self-confidence? Is that why we do better away than at home? (I am not writing of away games, here. Because of travel, weather and ground conditions, I appreciate that a lot of these small clubs are hard to visit and we are doing excellently so far in that respect).
Classic ... are you an official scout for SCP now Accers ? (sorry Eddie, didn't see you had already commented on this)
Tranmere are a team we definitely dont want to underestimate today. Unfortunately JA is correct when he says that if Tranmere get the first goal they'll sit back and soak up all the pressure and if we've not equalised within 20mins our own fans will jump on the players backs. i.e. Did anyone read Michael Slater's comments in the Chesterfield programme about patience.... I will say it now though that if we want to go up this season then its the likes of Tranmere that we've got to over come anyone who thinks they're just gonna roll over for us is a bloody fool (1 win / 3 draws since we've been relegated is our history against them)
I thought Tranmere played our game better than us. Showumni is a handful but not dirty, quick with a soft touch on the ball. They had more shots tan us. Just as well they had 10 behind the ball!!!!!
Quite easy to get to if anyone is going train to bank and underground train from bank station to stevenage should take 45 minutes or so.My friend i know knows the stevenage players quite well as he works at a jim they all go to!aparantly very strong like tranmere like cheating a bit off ball incidents try get players sent off, they are very good at home but not so away.Have a strong back 4 and a good midfield watch out for mourisho i think his name is at back, bostock in midfield and Laird at the back,we have got to match them at their own game play dirty but keep it on the ground no long ball crap!they will punish teams who do this type of play.We got to score first 10 minutes to get anything from stevenage.Have a good game if anyones going nice little club rem when welling played them a few years back.
Bollocks JA. They had 14 shots to our 8 and many a Charlton backside blocked most of them. Were you there. No.
i have improved, only 2 main threads a day dont talk as much ****e as i did befor learnt my lesson over the summer and become a better person for it as well
SEE WHA MEAN. i WILL ONLY DO TWO THREADS A DAY. THAT LASTED LESS THAN 30 MINUTES AS THIS IS YOUR THIRD THREAD TODAY NOW. JA, WHAT PART OF TWO IS THREE?
i am trying my best to behave on here,i have grown up a lot over the last few months so i respect everyone on here.Charlton has been a big part of me over the past 30 odd years,i know i may have talked ****e when growing up in the past couple of years but as i said ive done a lot of growing up over the past few years or so.This site has helped me through a rough patch over the past year or so so i would like to say a big thank you to all on here who have helped me through the last year.Thank you jonathan acworth
What underground train goes to Stevenage? You need to get out more matie. Either that or learn the word order for your syntax to make sense. Oh and try some punctuation and a a couple of conjunctives here and there, like 'by' train to Bank and 'by' underground from Bank, but not alas to Stevenage. Doughnut
