Given our luck so far today - hell, ever since about two months ago - you probably don't need to be too worried about it happening.
Extending Long never really made sense, frankly. His two primary attributes are his stamina and pace, and he's in his mid 30s. Sooner or later, age would catch up to him.
Three weeks ago we were celebrating beating the Champions and knocking the holders of the FA Cup out ... ... know one can complain that it’s not exciting being a Saints fan
All three of our options have either turned us down or been pulled by their clubs from the deals. Not ideal. We can soldier on and utilise Diallo, JWP, Stephens if we must. Let’s face it, we’re finishing mid-table anyway.
He might well be a good player, guess Liverpool signed him for a reason but he is an attacking mid isnt he? Guess we just accepted that no full back was available and thought we me as well bolster our forward options. Bad business really but we are broke and options clearly limited - lets just hope (if he signs) he is as good as our last signing from Liverpool!
It was announced on 14 January 2014 that Minamino held the Guinness World Records for high fives in a minute whilst running at the Komagawa Shopping Street with an achievement of 187 times, making the new world record. Sounds promising
I think I'll have a review of that thought in three weeks or so. If we can put out 11 fit players each fixture, then yes we will and happy with that, compared with previous years. But currently that is a tall ask and I'm just wondering how Ralph may feel at the end of the season if the current situation continues. It's another testing time for us all me thinks, the plus side is we know how to handle such times!
Very true. I can't see anything but finishing 11th-13th now. There will never be a better opportunity to give the youngster a go than the next few months. That's why I don't mind if Long goes
To do what? Break through passed all those teams with big money and big squads? We knew from the start we had no money and a small squad, no point bemoaning things now.
And an incredibly nice set of early season fixtures. Being top for a few hours was great, but looking at where we were after 10 or 12 games is never the same as where we were after 38 games in Ron's second season. That following summer was absolutely a missed opportunity in my book. Whereas this season was just a somewhat unfair impression of where everyone stood early doors.
Not weakening what was already a weak point in our squad would have been a good start. The fact we went into deadline day in what you could describe as panic mode is poor.
