Not that I have anything against Fabio Capello but he is not staying after the Euros so who should replace him. Should it be an Englishman ? Harry Redknapp appears to be one of the favourites - or Roy Hodgson, or some other Englishman. Or is the nationality unimportant ? Could he come from the Celtic fringe? Should he have experience of managing a national side somewhere or just a good c.v. in club football ? Who would you choose if given a completely free choice ? Or are the problems of English football so deep that no one person can perform miracles with the national team?
The problems are more deep rooted ! too much money and too many prima donnas in the prem, no one is prepared to sweat blood and tears for the shirt any more! i would only pick from the championship and lower and as the boss well stuart pearce has been looking after the youngsters! lets face it they couldnt do much worse! I think we need to follow the german model and try to reciprocate in England what the germans and the bundisleague have been doing, because we are obviously doing something fundamentally wrong!
I think it is soooooo funny - the hacks are demanding an English manager next and their fav is 'onset 'array....yeah what will happen when he gets nicked for tax evasion? The same hacks will be demanding his resignation! Personally I cannot give a ****, I hope they appoint a real dog and England FC fail once again and it promotes the collapse of the FA...a curse on all their houses...
Too right Norway - if not, I will sort out their drinking and betting fiddles - and if JT wants to take 40 pairs of boots to the World Cup, I would make the chad c*unt pay the excess baggage...
May I suggest another foreigner - Brendan Rodgers, anyone? The ersatz Special One might be treated to a similar barrage that GT got in the early 90s. I would enjoy that. But there's little chance. Or maybe some bloke called Mackay could take over the Scots.....that is darn sight worse than England manager.
Will be Redknapp if he wants it as I think Hodgson blew his chances by doing poorly with Liverpool... Ofcourse I actually think its very easy to blame Capello for our woes..ok his English isn't good (nor are most of the players!) but it worries me that people suggest our top international footballers actually need to be motivated to perform with pride. I would have thought they would be geed up enough by the thought of going out and playing for the country but clearly not.
i would hope it would be someone English, and someone who cares about England as a team. Someone who can instil passion and pride in the shirt, and make players hungry for playing in it. Harry Redknapp seems the obvious choice at the moment, but i'd love it if Terry Venables did it again!
Our 'arry will do for me.But as has already been said going from day to day training with players to a few days every few months is a complete new ball game. Whoever gets the job....GOOD LUCK!
Sorry guys, but there's only one man capable of sorting out the rabble that is the current England team - - step forward Sir Alex
Sean Dyche! Only kidding, I would have someone who knows a lot of the players, maybe Stuart Pearce cos he's worked with some of them in the u21s.
I would think Stuart Pearce would do a fine job; he is a man manager, he does not take crap from anybody, who ever you are!! He will put every single person in their place and he has plenty of experience managing a group of egos. The only problem i have is that he will be sorely missed in the U21 set up. He is the father figure those kids need and it might end up harming their development.
