I've always liked Steve Bruce. I hope he wins tonight too (though it isn't looking good so far) especially with Lampard on the loose.
Holy C##p. Have just seen Brighton have announced a £67+ million loss in their accounts. Only around £25 mill of which is due to the pandemic. Bearing in mind they are pretty much a run of the mill, mid-lower table Premiership team that haven't exactly splashed hundreds of millions on players as far as I am aware, that's a pretty scary figure. When will football learn that it's unsustainable to keep clubs going in this way?
I thought Burnley winning at Liverpool would take some beating but Sheff U tonight puts that in the shade!
Just watching the highlights of West Ham vs Liverpool. Can we have some hoofball like was played for Salah's second? Corner, head, hoof, hoof, goal.
That was a brilliant goal - 5 touches end to end. I then wasted 2 hours of my life watching the worst Tottenham performance since we beat them in the cup in 1977. Taking nothing from an excellent Brighton win but Spurs were appalling.
Real Madrid should pull Bale from Spurs and send him to a more deserving club like his home town club. He's wasting his time in North London and Central Spain. South East Wales (no not Newport) is where it's at. Never mind the money Gareth, think of the glory and the Brains.
To be honest Clingo he's not up to the Prem. His year of relative inactivity at Madrid has done him no good at all. If I was Spurs I would be sending him back today and investing the wages saved in someone who can add to what they have. But at the same time, as a Spurs fan for 60 years this year, Mourinho out!!!!
Yep. Since the 60/61 double with Greavsie added the next season. I follow them from afar or unfortunately on the tele yesterday. However, City are my home club as you can see from my activity and views on here. I bloody hate it when City play them. I also keep a friendly eye out for Newport and Bournemouth so, all in all, I'm not enjoying this season.
I remember going with some pals to see Newport v Bournemouth many years ago as City we’re away and we wanted to see if Danny Showers had improved after leaving City. He hadn’t
Well it looks like we'll be facing at least one Sheffield club again next season. Great result for the Baggies against Chelski and although you wouldn't put it past big Sam to do something extraordinary, I think they're too far gone to survive. So, who will be the third club from the current Prem that we'll be facing next season. I wouldn't mind re-engaging with Fulham.
Shoot out between Fulham & Newcastle who actually play each other on last day of the season. Much prefer Newcastle to stay up as last time they kept their PL team and bullied the league. Good effort since the New Year by Fulham who made some decent signings; whether those will be there in the championship though is uncertain.
Would prefer Fulham to come back down. In the last few seasons I've developed a bit of a disliking for them. I think it was probably the year we went up at their expense and they followed via the playoffs. The bleating from them and the media about the injustice of a team like Cardiff going up instead of "beautiful" Fulham was sickening. Then they promptly went and spent £100 million + and finished bottom, whereas industrial, brutish, little old Cardiff came close to survival. Pretty much since that promotion season it seems like they've become one of those clubs that just keep throwing money at it and forgetting the fact that they are actually a pretty average club just like the rest of us. Throw in Scott "whiney" Parker as manager too... ever since that Arter sending off at our place and his moaning "if there's contact it's a foul" whereas I was always of the belief that football was meant to be a contact sport.... so yep, no real respect left for the Cottagers. At least when Newcastle came down last time their fans were pretty humble and just enjoyed the experience.
