Is there a rule about sleeves? There are patches there so I suspect there is. I’d love it if they could come out like that.

Nothing to stop them having the Premier League sticker directly attached to their shoulder I suppose.

"A shirt with sleeves" is compulsory.

    Sadly

It doesn’t say how long the sleeves have to be though, and they do vary from club to club and year to year, which makes the current rule on offside/handball even more absurd. Look at the difference between City’s and United’s sleeves in this photo (ignore Luke Shaw’s undershirt, obviously):

I can’t see anything to stop a team having sleeves even shorter than we currently wear, as long as it’s a piece of cloth encircling the top of the arm.

If the powers that be make a mockery of the spirit of the game, I don’t see why clubs shouldn’t take the piss as well.

Didn't Cameroon once have a sleeveless shirt?

If the sleeve is used for deciding an offside or a handball, not having sleeves would expose more arm and potentially lead to conceding more penalties when defending, whilst having sleeves lead to ridiculous offside decisions.
Clearly the players need to be instructed to fold the sleeves up, when attacking, and roll them to the fullest length when defending.

There must be a roller-blind style sleeve available somewhere, surely? Perhaps that’s why we’re going back to Hummel.

Just thought of some good news! This is BT Sport, so maybe we’ll get Keown as the co-commentator :)

The text in the Rule book says:-

A player is in an offside position if:
    • any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and
    • any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
    • The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered.
It is down to interpretation I guess?

The arm now ends level with the armpit, apparently. Still hugely open to interpretation though, and given that probably all the officials on the PGMOL list except 3 or 4 share a single brain cell between them, consistency of interpretation leaves a lot to be desired.

Kyle Walker-Peters and Jannik Vestergaard remain out for Tuesday trip to Old Trafford.

Vestergaard and Mohammed Salisu are expected to be out for 1-2 more weeks.

No time frame on Walker-Peters but shouldn’t be too long.

Oh buggerlumps. I thought before the Villa game he was said to be closer then that...
Valery it is then, unless we let him go out on loan. In which case I really don't know who plays there. If we are having to play without Romeu and Diallo, then JWP has to start centrally alongisde Jankewitz or whichever youth player gets the nod. But who else can play RB? Ramsay I guess, but I thought he was one Ralph was happy for us to let go. We still have most of this month playing twice a week, argh.
