After Graham has decided to yet again drain us of money and take the pish, dont get me started on Grigg.... https://safc.com/news/team-news/2021/january/stewart-signs-for-sunderland This lads very highly rated, lets hope things work out. We've made a big impact in this league in the last 3 days, we've signed a left back that started against Arsenal less than a week ago, a highly rated winger from Rangers thats only been loaned to us because of his behaviour with them and now this lad who had Championship interest.
Hope he does well. Might be wrong but I expect to see him on the left on occasion tbh. You're right though, it's good to have an alternative to Wyke, and hopefully kimpioka will be back soon to offer something different again
I forgot about Kimpioka. We should really be walking this league with the player's we have shouldnt we. We saw yesterday that physicality has a big say in this league, Gillinghams forward looked like Anthony Joshua. We need to learn to adapt asap, because the refs are also shyte and every team we play ups their game because of the size of the club we are.
Been some great business done over the last week! Hopefully they can all make a positive impact and push up the league!
Another thing I like is the contract length. 2 and a half years is enough to give the lad that bit of security, but I really like the club having the option of an extra year. If he's good we get the chance to tie him down for a few seasons, if not he's not going to hang around forever. I think we might have done it with some others before so it's not a new thing, but it's certainly a sensible approach
Also frankly Gillingham showed how to play us... big lads up front and hoof balls towards them...got to manage that better I am sure we can.
Itd be good if we had a long throw in taker aswell like they did. The quality in this league is very poor, but we are are own worst enemies alot of the time, and we need more units like Charlie Wyke, Wright and Willis to show some muscle. Flanagan also needs to drop down to the U17s
Seriously?? I never knock anyone for an opinion mate, but you must have seen something i haven't? Either that or you are his dad, brother, sister, cousin, mam or boyfriend,
Seriously. I don’t think he’s ever been as bad as made out but he has been prone to a stinker, but this season has played very well. Recently Wright and Willis have been on form but prior to that this season I’d have had him as our first choice centre back.
Someone posted that last season Parky asked the EFL for a strong ref? Don't think we did yesterday and it cost us with all their arm smashes.
It's the way Gillingham play and they try to boss the game from the get go! It's not easy to play against but they are the standard league 1 club and happy to be that. ( My sister in law is a season ticket holder for them)
It felt like an FA cup game where the non league side were launching it and getting physical. We find it hard playing against that type and there are a few do it in this ****e league so we will drop points but I’m still nor convinced becoming big and **** is the right way to go up.
Happened all game, sly arms and elbows all over the place. This is where our players have to step up and make a big thing of these instances the same way other teams do as soon as we get a player booked. We are so naive, we should be desperate for every advantage and getting the ref tuned into what the opposition do should be standard.
Having seen some of his goals he is very good in the air - big and strong with good feet. If we've added Jones who by all account is a good crosser of the ball. He might be able to provide the ammo for this lad to nod a few in.
Would hope he’s playing along side him instead of being back up. Praying he’s good, as I have no idea what to expect
