I'm telling you mate Last season goal line tech failed to keep his club promoted The previous season they escape financial fair play punishment He's a James bond villain
The one question I have is if the pen had been given, would Villa have moaned? And there lies the answer to the decision.
Yep actually agree. Slightest of touches which hardly changed direction of the ball. He stuck his hand out to stop & it did it’s job. And before you quote the law, it’s crap. It’s gone tooooo fine line. It’s crap. A sensible decision was pen, even if it was against us. Still, like the offside last week (MC / Villa) maybe they’ll just change the rules again. Why not; they don’t want to look foolish do they.
Oi, I got ****ing banned from the politics thread for saying Badger was arrogant. Try that one next time you reply to Tom
So it was going for his hand anyway? I reverse my feeling, what a ****e decision, I don’t care about the rules . Of course it is Mike Dean on VAR duty.
Having the non-handball helps deflect from the real issue in this match. Playing a Central Midfielder against Grealish. Unsurprisingly that is where the goal came from. Think Ralph is suffering from romantic ideals. We love JWP and he can score free kicks. Personally dont think that is reason to play him over Valery.
Again, the law doesn't differentiate between the ball going off at a 45 degree angle and the ball barely deviating from its path. If it hit his leg, that's a deflection. If it's a deflection, it isn't a penalty. It sucks, because I agree that it would have hit his arm if it hadn't hit his leg first, but they made the right decision.
Common sense has gone out of the window, the refs are too bound up with rules to make an informed decision.
We are playing well, but there is a definite issue with us recently going forward and today has been a case in point so far. We had 80% possession for 10 mins at one point, but didn’t test Martinez once in that time. We get to the box and then that’s it, bar a piece of miracle world class play from Ings to break things up.
Like I said to Tom, if Mason had given the pen, VAR wouldn’t have overturned it, because the brush on the thigh was barely perceptible.
That's not the point though. They would only have moaned IF they know the rules inside out. If they didn't moan it's because they believe the rules should mean it's a handball..... doesn't mean the ref got it wrong
