Not daft is he, knows who let us down today and where we need to improve.

Too many players didn't do what they're capable of but I'm sure he'll either knock that out of them or drop them ...

... I'm still confident of being at a virtual Trafalgar Square <laugh>

He knows what needs to be done, despite all the little smiles on camera I can imagine him being pretty ruthless. I'm happy for him to bomb out whoever he wants tbh.

BRB warned us about that yesterday. We need to learn to take our chances and finish teams off.

Love your optimism @Smug in Boots. I am normally optimistic but this team drives me bonkers

For the elderly brethren amongst us when we were here last time and got promoted we built around speed and pace (admittedly Marco was a tad better than we have at moment) but our lack of pace is frightening

I think you're right about him being ruthless but he does seem to put out the same team regardless of the previous performance. He should have a go at himself for poor use of subs today.

they don't even battle for the ball, pass too long or wide, rubbish at the back, too slow etc, etc.

I think Power has done better at RB I just like Sanderson as a better defender.

I was at every game but one mate.

We had fanatical support, a real captain and a great spirit.

This time we have none of those things but should still be good enough.

Thankfully Johnson seems to know where we're lacking so I think we can still scrape up which I'd settle for.

The optimism stems from the fact that the entire structure of the club is being sorted out so we may never be in this position again.

I actually don’t mind O’Brien if I’m honest. Holds the ball up well and has a bit about him. Doesn’t score enough goals though.

Might have been a better choice today with all the physical defending, then again we could easily have scored from some of the chances Power created. Sanderson looks like a good player I'm just not sure what he offers in attack, haven't really seen him get forward because he's not had the chance.

I wonder if we can do something about a keeper? Burge makes a great save to push it onto the bar first half but then gets in bad position for their equaliser. He isnt big enough either to come and claim balls from long throws etc. I wouldnt mind some pressure taking off the centre halfs by a keeper who comes and catches a few as it would make teams like Gillingham have to mix it up a bit as well.

He has a lot of responsibility with the way we play and probably made more passes than anyone today ...

... but, without Wright, the defence looks shaky and the full backs don't help tbh.

I missed about 3 that year despite at the Gillingham game saying that's it - had enough- not watching third division. Sadly never expected to be back and watching it for so many seasons with a side devoid of so much.

The new regime have a big task on their hands (the really good thing it is new and we can get rid of chancers running the club)

The left hand side is a real problem defensively and hopefully we have sorted that with Vokin. I still think Hume will have a role when fit too.

I'd be tempted to rest McGeady in the cup and have a new left side of Jones and Vokin. Gooch should also start and Winchester in for Leadbitter.

It was my favourite season in over 50 years of travelling the country with the lads.

So many great memories of a crazy season, especially away from home.
