1st half The first 5 minutes we were far too slow, backwards and sideways (Power and Leadbitter). We get a break and Mcgeady scores 1-0.Then its all Gillingham, we cannot handle the big lad up front, if you cant beat him in the air you have to win the second ball, we cant. Off a ball into the box its knocked to the edge of the area and tucked into the corner of the net, mistake by Burge. 1-1. One of their players unlucky not to score when he smashes one against the cross bar. We cant deal with crosses or long throws. We break, McGeady fouled in the box. Penalty. Brilliant penalty from Grant to play it off the keeper, onto the post, back off the keeper and onto his head. 2-1. We need to step up in the second half, very lucky to be in front. We cant cope with anything arial, we need to try and cut out the stupid fouls, stop them crossing and win the second ball 2nd half We glance the top of the bar. Much of the same, Gooch comes on and gives us a spark, Mcgeady should score about 10 yards out, they hit the woodwork again. Any ball into our box causes panic. They get the goal they deserve late in the game final score 2-2. MOTM Oliver, we could not handle him. He was the opposite of Wyke, who fouled players, fell over and did nothing all day. MOTM for us McGeady, seemed to be the only threat until Gooch came on
We were ****ing **** yet again but if the ref had his bollocks with him, that’s a foul on Gooch and “possible” red card for a goal scoring opportunity. That latter is debatable but there is no foul whatsoever on their man and he knew Gooch was likely to go past him. That said, if that useless bastard O’Brien could kick a ****ing ball, we would be 3-1 up.
could have been 5-5 best game of the season but defending has cost us chances blasted over the top, 6th place now i would take but Oxford will nick it i fear. Their player who scored the eualizer did what Wyke should have done last week this has ben all season as well, lucky to get a draw today not a patch on the team of 2 seasons ago too weak need a couple of big players.
