For one, having been a premier league manager for so long I can’t see him accepting a position of academy coach but also he crashed an burned at Burnley.

One of the things I find most interesting about this season is that even when we've conceded a hatful is the total togetherness of the whole squad. In fact there is never a dissenting voice to be heard from anywhere within the club. No talk of a change in tactics or tightening things up at the back, just head down and get on with the job of improving to get better.

It's very refreshing and of course all down to Bielsa and the respect he commands.

    Agree with this :emoticon-0148-yes:

Also been said on here today:
    • We have a team of average players in the main. Yes 100% true but Bielsa improved them so that some of them could get into some prem teams, but only Phillips would get into a top club. I looked at Newcastle team sheet and if you took out our new signings and compared man for man, you would have to say Newcastle had more players than us whom would get into Prem teams.
    • Eddie Howe wanted a break and said he would be travelling to learn under top coaches in Italy and Spain. Cannot travel so why not take a sabbatical in Thorp Arch. Come back re-energised
    • Think Jammy has a great point on last seasons Bournemouth relegation, but I think he knew that whatever happened he was not getting a transfer kitty as the club was due to pay £30m out immediately on cheduled transfer payments. He also knew he would have to sell players, so think he lost heart and ended up a bit broken

With Newcastle winning, bottom 3 are starting to get cut adrift. Big one at 3 between WBA and Fulham.

I would love that! (in my best Kevin Keegan excited accent).

Head-hunt him, insisting on absolute secrecy. Interview him several times as part of 'the process', lifting his expectations every time. Once he's happy that he'll have £500m to spend each year, & a salary of £20m, plus all sorts of other benefits, we tell him we'll get the contract drawn up. Hopefully someone on his side will leak this (if not, we would), and when it all comes to a head in the media, we announce at a presser that we weren't sure about him, but now we're absolutely certain, & we couldn't possibly employ a manager that couldn't keep a secret. We also ridicule his claim the £500m etc., just to rub it in, claiming (rightly) that the numbers quoted are just silly.

    A man can dream ..... :D

    West Brom 2-2 Fulham.

Good result for us that. Sheffield Utd lost too. That's another weekend without any major dents in our points gap to the bottom three and we haven't even played yet.

I had faith in Thomas. If he had been given the chances that Bielsa has been given, things might have turned out differently. We gave him 8 months, selling Charlie Taylor & Chris Wood from under him right at the start. From a team built around supplying Wood too. <doh>

Although you'd think he'd be involved in transfers by starting in June, the decisions had all been made. Surely? We signed 20 players & let 14 go. 9 of the signings became regulars. All strangers. Despite all this, he had some success, being axed in our traditional 'slump-time' in the new year.

As for Heck, it's not who employed him, it's the guy that recommended him in the first place that should be tortured, not Radz, who was still a bit of a virgin at this time. <doh>

Thats why I believe lessons have been learned. Its not all about who can spend the most on players its who can get the best coach. That coach can change the whole clubs way of thinking and doing business. I dont think we will ever see a Big Sam or Warnock again. It’ll be a coach with personality and reputation whoncan influence and develop academy talent and doesnt need a cheque book

I think Big Sam normally gets the best out of a team and doesn't take prisoners when it comes to slackers they are straight out of the door, and is excellent with injuries and the right treatment, but we have a decent manager

You pissed Rog? <laugh> No way would Allardyce be a good fit. The whole set-up would have to change.

Anyway no one wants Bielsa out. It’s about who might replace him when he eventually calls it a day.
