I agree Franco, just lacks a bit of pace, I always thought that he would have made a good left sided mid fielder sweet left foot.
I agree that he lacked a bit of pace Rod. However, I don't recall him being exposed too often. This was mainly because he was a pretty good reader of the game for such a young man. I think he would've matured into a very good player for us. I could've seen him fitting in comfortably at CB.
Away at Barnet in the cup last season, Basey played at CB and was excellent. He marshalled the defence and made our strikers look even worse than they actually are - and that is saying something. I like the lad, a good player with a good footballing brain.
I reckon the bar is still vibrating from that free kick as well. Decent thread on the Wycombe board about this move.
basey had a very good game at left back today ,solid going forward and in defence and made one superb tackle on the edge of our box in the second half, shame we have only got him for a month.
I'd be surprised if it is just a month if he's not getting into the Peterborough side. Most loan signings start out as a month then get renewed as each month comes to an end (a club can do this so many times before having to decide whether they want him for the season) i.e. this what happened with us and Matt Fry
Basey was good at Barnet and though he lacks a bit of pace he is solid enough. WE have lost t and they have gained a player or two left backs against Bristol Rovers and they have gained a couple from us lately. I hope it orks out for Basey, nice bloke.
