Yeah you'd expect goals and we won the return 4-3, though we were 4-1 up going into stoppage time. So 0-0 then.
Mane is one of the most entertaining and gifted players ever to grace the PL. So was Henry, obviously. Again, very different players, but I don’t think even most Liverpool fans, busy salivating over Salah, appreciate what they’ve got with Mane. It’s his movement on and off the ball, he always does the unexpected (sometimes the impossible) and leaves defenders thinking wtf? I’ve seen some great players in a Saints shirt, I’ve never seen anyone quite like Mane, and I will begrudgingly admit that Klopp’s improved him.
Bertrand was suspended so he'll be back but Walker Peters is still out. Apparently Romeu is fit again so I wouldn't be surprised if we had a midfield of him and Diallo and put Ward Prowse at right back to release his ****house-ness against Grealish. It's what I'd do anyway.
Definitely one of those players you have to watch live to fully appreciate imo. Tbf I kind of get what Fosse is saying about him playing centrally but he's definitely not a Vardy; always thought he was best picking up the ball deeper and running at people. Definitely best attacking player I've seen play for us, except Rickie of course.
It’s Villa mate, they’re all fur coat and no knickers, and one Jack Grealish doesn’t change that. We got this. Will be handy if we’ve got at least one grown up FB though tbf.
Wasn't entirely joking ... about Ings. We are said to be 'interested' ... somewhat spurious connection being made in the media between him wanting CL football and us currently gatecrashing the Top 4 party. If you could guarantee his fitness I'd take him in a heartbeat ... really clever player and great finisher.
I’m sure you’d take him. That’s not really the point. I refuse to accept he’s leaving, until he goes. But a new contract has been sitting on the manager’s desk for weeks and he still hasn’t signed it...
... if he wants CL we may be his best (perhaps only) option ... Liverpool are out and don't really see Citeh or United going for him ... Chelsea? ... and Arsenal don't need another forward ... especially one with Wilshireisms ... Winding you up aside, where do you think he'll go to? If he goes, of course.
Dunno but it won't be you lot. You're making quite a dangerous assumption that you'll be in it after your collapse last season. I think most the top clubs will be interested at £25m or so tbh. It's also been reported that he if he goes it will be one of the big clubs btw.
Making no assumptions at all ... look back to my earlier post on "currently gate crashing" ... plus it is the press bigging us up to stay there, not Leicester fans ... we tend to be pessimistic by nature (and experience) ... At his age Ings won't want to be bench warming if he leaves you ... he joined you in the first place to avoid that (so he's obviously not too snobby about joining smaller clubs)... That said, we are a very different proposition to last season in terms of squad depth and, indeed, mentality. .. so never say never.
Big irony is that one of the hottest strikers in world football right now; apparently likely to join Bayern, having just broken the all time goals record in the Bundesliga for a Croatian footballer... was let go by us for peanuts back in 2016 because he couldn't get a starting spot ... Andrej Krameric.
Yeah he’s a cracking player. And he’s nimble and intelligent with it. His confidence was shot recently, but thankfully Spurs handed it back to him
Rodgers will play him left wing to accommodate Mane up front. City would make sense if he wants shedloads of money and isn’t bothered about playing every week. He’d make Arsenal much better but not sure they’re a big enough pull any more.
Given the reaction on here this morning, I might just pop over to the Saints board to see what the rest of their lads think about the prospect of us signing Danny Ings? ... I'm sure they will all want to wish him well
