I could pick that side and send them out with a formation the majority play every week and just tell them to play. It’s amongst the best international squads in World football. I reckon he’ll leave after the Euros and some poor suckers will see what he’s all about. He got lucky with us, took over an already very good and extremely well drilled Moyes side who were top already 6, then got uber lucky when he went to Chelsea to try and sign Demba Ba and they said no and offered us Lukaku on loan, the striker we’d been lacking for donkeys. We were unlucky not to get 4th that season, with 72 points. But then the true effect of his wretched ‘philosophy’ became clear and we were incredibly easy to score against and lost the impact of one of the best forwards in the game. Criminal tbh.
In my opinion using Mane as a replacement for Vardy would be a tragic waste of his talents. Have you actually watched him play? I’m not saying which of the two is the better player btw. I’m saying they’re completely different players. Mane as part of a front three is devastating; Vardy playing off the shoulder of the last man is devastating. I wouldn’t ask either to try to play the other’s game.
First time I saw him playing for you I wanted us to go after him to pair him WITH Vardy ... obviously Liverpool was a much more attractive proposition. I was only making the point that he is one of the few players I have seen who could actually replace our talismanic little ****. I agree with you that it would be a waste to play him in the same role... but I certainly don't see Mane as a winger. He reminds me a bit of Henry but with more raw pace. Certainly one of the best strikers of the premier League era. I'm hoping we can get him in the summer to play him in a 3 with Harvey Barnes and Danny Ings
Mane is a cracking player, but he isn't as fast as Thierry Henry. Perhaps you meant Sane. Still not as quick as Henry but faster than Mane. Speed is one thing, but it's all about what you can do at speed with the ball, which Henry was the master at.
Don’t joke about Danny Ings mate - sore subject To be fair to Klopp, he knew exactly what he was getting with both Mane and Weasel Van Snake. The missing pieces of his jigsaw. Mane’s perfect for the style Klopp has them playing, but they’re obviously not the same team without Van Snake. What a shame that is, eh?
