I understand where you're coming from, Rafa would be a 100% guarantee of safety from some shock relegation. Obviously an anxiety is the club trying to run before it can walk and ending up rock bottom of the league. The worst mistake we can make, isn't even manager though imo, it's signing players on insane contracts when they don't even want to play for us. That will be a ****ing disaster.
If Ashley wasn't hell bent on getting exactly £350M we could easily drop to the Championship and sell the club for like 100 mil less and the Saudis would have a clean slate to rebuild. Its gonna be ****ing hard taking over, building something and maintaining our premier league place all in one season.
please log in to view this image I'd take Graeme Jones over Bruce. Man is the most clueless manager I think we've ever had
It would be a positive move. When you're losing every single match, it really can't get worse. We don't even get draws ffs.
I think we'll see an improvement now we have a coach that's been at clubs that coach proper football. I think the fans are failing to realise just how outdated and unable Bruce and agnew really are. I'm predicting an immediate improvement in our style of play and over time it'll improve significantly enough I hope to get us a few results. I honestly think Mike and Charnley have for something right... They've realised Bruce's useless, but that his man management is good.. They've tried to solve a problem without creating another.. They've realised throwing players on the sqaud won't get us playing better
I still think that somehow the players like Bruce, he has that kindly old Granddad routine down to a ****ing master level. So, if they can have a serious coach behind him with genuine football intelligence we are in for a winner, but I feel for Jones and my dislike for Bruce is so much that I don't want him receiving undue credit. I would much rather if they promoted Jones up to joint manager or something, it's not an outlandish situation.
Bruce's ****ed because of performance improves its been publicised about the appointment of Jones, so he can't really get full credit. It'll look worse for him.
If we win against Everton or get a decent draw I'd sack him and appoint Jones that night. Let him bring in his own staff, he has contacts with some intelligent football people, he's been in the coaching and management side for ****ing years. Bruce has neglected that side of his career entirely, Bruce spends most of his time signing players, playing a set system and buttering up the chairmen.
I think Ashley's committed to leave and I think he'll just stick with Bruce all season unless this latest plan doesn't show signs of improvement in the next 4 to 6 weeks..
Ye know I was thinking this the other day, but I don't think he knows anything about football then again we hired Joe Kinnear
