Of course I appreciate the government getting things right, that's why they were elected.

But you can't just ignore 100,000 deaths because they used the public purse to help the public.

There's been some really poor decisions, some from the government and some personally from the PM.

The scary thing is some people do ignore it to suit their anti Covid agenda

That's what we should all do and, in reality, all I'm doing.

I found it disgraceful that the PM should set the disgraceful example of walking, unmasked, into intensive care shaking hands with Covid victims then boasting about it.

    That was absolutely idiotic.

Some people believe terrorist attacks are all faked ...

... that's why you need a strong decisive government.

If I think back to when covid first came about as news, in my small company of 8 people, 5 banged the drum of "it's just the flu, don't know what the fuss is about" etc

Then in the summer, it was " it only kills old people who would die anyway, the government can't tell me what to do"

And only know after a year are they starting to realise it wasn't any of that.

I agree, to an extent, but people tend to be blindly optimistic.

Even those directly involved, at the top, were saying it would all be over by summer, Christmas, Easter, whatever.

On a happy note, I setup out first ever family what's app group on new years eve as a way of everyone to keep in contact in one place.

Its brought some great laughs and some great lows, but it's also reminded us all that we are all here for each other, good or bad.

I've decided to try and find every positive I can from what's been a year of ****e

I suspect when the next pandemic hits us we will react very differently. :emoticon-0114-dull:

It's incredible when you think people in WW2 would've had virtually no means of communicating.

Yesterday my 4 year old granddaughter Skype called me for 20 minutes and gave me a tour of her new brother's bedroom from his wardrobe to his cradle.

    Fantastic!

My daughter calls my mam and dad on facetime regular and takes her ipad to her room to play. Mam and dad join in as if they are here and it's a joy to listen to whilst being upsetting that they can't do it face to face.

My boy spent 20 minutes on the phone to dad today asking about his great great grandad and what he did in ww1.

They both said when they can see each other they are going to research it more.

Dido Harding is on the board of directors of Cheltenham Festival and The J ockey Club, Matt Hancock is a horse racing fanatic and receives huge backing/funding from racing circles. The Cheltenham Festival was never going to be cancelled, too much money to be made.

Tell me about it. I won a fortune at that meeting ;)

As it happens, I remember also winning a grand on the Liverpool and Madrid game which should have also been cancelled.

It was sadly typical of why the PM has gained a reputation of wanting to be liked by everyone ...

... Churchill in public, church mouse in private.

    I am feeling smug!
I joined the novavax vaccine trial last autumn, and given my reaction to the second shot, it could not have been saline solution. It seemed to me a no brainer, drugs in phase 3 trials are expected to work and you have a 50% chance of getting the drug.
Nice to know that it is going to be made in the north east as well.
