In management development there are master classes to develop young talent. I think everyone has been impressed with how LJ is developing the squad the psychology of the players and the tactics to produce a winning culture. The question is- Which manager past and present would you sit LJ down with to aid his development and why? My thoughts behind this is Sir Alex and his production of a United team including Beckham, Gigg, Scholes etc as we are pushing youth ourselves.
Probably the only man who has been a proper success over a decent period of time at SAFC - Peter Reid. In fact I’d like to think LJ may have spoken to Reidy already.
Vic Buckingham, Rinus Michels, Johan Cruyff, Jimmy Hogan, Erno Egri Erbstein, Gusztaf Sebes. All were instrumental in the development of the modern game, played the type of football I would like to see us play, and crucially had similar approaches to what Johnson is trying to implement. Interestingly, Johnson is known to have spent time around John Beck, another innovator, but perhaps the antithesis of these managers.
