Well, I haven't been able to declare myself satisfied with the performance for a while, so I'll do it now. Much more like it.
That mane goal sums up the type of crosses we need. Quick in behind so spurs defenders facing their own goal. with 7 men back in the box crossing from 25 yards out, like we did v Burnley, we’re never going to score.
Green shoots lads I told you about the little snow drops pushing through. Trent played v utd with intent and he continued it tonight. Mane missed a sitter and then we got a right scare but from then on we absolutely dominated spurs all night. Spurs could not get out. Now fsg get the cheque book out. I'm half confident that on deadline day something will happen.
Much better. Trent and Bobby were both superb. Mane and Salah both looking lively. Thiago is phenomenal. Pundits saying we got luck, I think that's bollox. Spurs were lucky, should have won by more. Even their (albeit, very good) goal was fortunate, he ****ing sliced it!!!
The one thing that does worry me about him is the number of fouls he seems to be giving away. At this rate he's going to pick up a lot of yellows. You always need a bit of steel in midfield, but he doesn't seem to be getting away with them - unlike say, Milner who routinely cleans people out and survives.
We didn't take him off because of the booking. We took him off because his fitness isn't there. He's got a very good 65-70mins in him.
His stats for tackles at Bayern were up there with best in the league so he is decent. I just wonder if the prem is that bit quicker and hes still recovering and getting used to the intensity and pace. Only need to be 0.1 second late and it’s a foul and a yellow so wouldn’t be too concerned
Onwards we go now. I can see us climbing up the table. West Ham looks a much better bet. We are back in the title chase!
The goal that was ruled out for Bobby handball was a joke. Yes, it was handball but Dier was ragging him and he handled it first. How the **** it was their freekick is beyond me. Rules are a joke.
OK it is time for me to make a confession. Our poor form in January is my fault, me and the Mrs have been doing dry January. The Mrs is back in Liverpool tonight looking after her Dad, who has just come out of hospital after having Covid, so I had my usual beers whilst watching the game and we are back on form. From now until the end of the season I will have a few beers whilst watching all our games. Once again I can only apologise to you all for my error of judgement and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.
at least you came clean but too little too late. If you’d told us this 3 weeks ago we could have told you to stop being selfish get some beers in and we’d be top of the table
