Carlo is creating a side that can win games in different ways, what came before him isn’t his issue, he’s had one window and spent well. We started the season playing open attacking football and were scoring goals for fun. Then we suffered a few injuries and the Richarlison suspension and it went pear. He’s since created a method of play that makes us extremely difficult to beat when we’re playing the better sides, it’s about balance though and we’re still a work in progress. However we’re infinitely better than the spineless often spiritless side he took over just over a year ago. We should have scored form a set piece last night btw, and 9/10 this season DCL finds the net with that header in the 89th minute.
Fair enough, I think that there was a perception we were negative in 15/16 but we played free flowing up to about February and then the Italian came out and we ground out results. I hate playing Everton but that’s probably a compliment! I think we’ve come on since December where we crumbled and went down 2-0 to you and this time fought back for a draw.
I was thinking pure spend rather than net spend. Tbf I nearly added that you seem to offset it by selling ****e for big money (Brewster, Ibe etc).
Except it's all about wage bills and not transfers: https://www.sportekz.com/football/premier-league-clubs-wage-bills/
Yes, I accepted what John said, that he meant about 'Pure spend'. Still puts us way behind the oil clubs and Uniturd though.
I'm looking forward to our next ten or so games as much as I looked forward to the last six or seven.
When you spend badly it doesn't matter what you spend. Now we have a manager who will take his time to build the side he wants. If im correct we were below villa and leeds in the summer window spending list.
Guess that would depend on how you define 'spending' ... I suspect the wages you are paying for the players you brought in are substantially more than the equivalent spend at Villa and Leeds ...
Well do you want net spend, wage to turnover ratio........number of PL titles against sales to Chelsea?
1. They ain't won in 5 league games. 2. They ain't scored in 4 league games. 3. We have a chance to overtake them and West Ham and get into the top 4 and have a game in hand over both. 4. We have a chance to go 6 points clear of the goons with a game in hand. 5. We have a chance to go 3 points behind Leicester with a game in hand and a better goal difference. So...does anyone seriously doubt what will happen tonight? **** football... **** Liverpool...**** Maureen...**** the ref...**** sky...**** BT...**** @luvgonzo ... **** sucky ... **** you lot ... **** everyone and **** everything
