Leonardo has spoken about hoping he retires at PSG, so either they offer him a two-year deal in the near future, or MLS continues to be a league devoted to reminding jaded fans of the mid-to-late 90s Premier League where teams were made up of a lot of dross and a superannuated player who was surplus to requirements in the top leagues but is still significantly better than the dross around them, which was apparently "real football"
Morgan Sanson is set to sign for Villa. He was a player we’ve been linked with at various stages over the last 2-3 years.
We’ve also been linked with a pre-contract move for Florian Thauvin. Flopped at Newcastle but has done pretty well back in France. Other reports are saying PSG are still in talks with us for Dele. Looking like a loan with no obligation/ option to buy at the moment.
Thauvin's been linked with us on and off for 3-4 years, certainly before he joined Newcastle (so that's more like 5-6, bloody hell...) so it's probably safe to ignore that one
Aarons Watch FootballDotLondon report we're considering a £20m buy-and-loan-back deal Surely we're going to get told to piss off?
PSG Ins and Outs Watch Le Parisien report that PSG have offered us Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye as part of a deal for Dele Putting aside how our HG quota grew a mouth, lungs and vocal chords in order to scream at the idea of losing one of our few HG players and replace him with two Non HG players in spite not having the Non HG spots to accommodate them, there is certainly upsides to this Starting with the obvious one, Draxler would offer us creativity in the middle, either as a CM or an AM, although it has to be said this season is the second where he's spent more time on the treatment table than the pitch which goes a long way to explaining why he's into the last six months of his contract. In other words, PSG are probably kicking themselves they let Lo Celso go On the other hand, Gueye was a player I was talking up as a potential signing a while back as an upgrade on Sissoko, and it has to be said that even though he's now 31 he would have enough in the tank until the end of next season and is capable of both being an improvement on Sissoko and some much-needed cover for Hojbjerg, and since he has Premier League experience from his time at Everton he is a reasonably safe option
If Poch was the manager then maybe? Though Dele declined under him as well of course, but he also got the best football we’ve seen out of Dele. It all depends if he’s going to get playing time and I’m not sure he will at PSG. Bit of a weird one all round tbh.
I'd happily take him off their hands, either now or in the summer, if we can fit him into the squad. Give him a year or two while Skipp hones his craft on loan and gets plenty of games under his belt.
Galatasaray are reportedly looking to bring in Gedson Bloody typical, isn't it? The only deadwood anyone is interested in won't even make us any money as he's a loanee...
Gwaaarn, Malachi! Great seeing him back after his injury. Not the strongest of leagues but nonetheless some senior football for him.
Does he discriminate between his own players and his opponents? If you're in the way, you've got to go regardless. Although he's put on so much weight you would have 2 weeks' notice of his intentions.
