I thought English football was run by people who did not care about the football only where the next large amount of money was coming from and that rugby was controlled by old men who still wore their school ties and drank a lot of gin.

I have a thought. "Oh no!" I hear you shout.

Next time I write a match thread for an Ísland football match I will sit it in the Watford thread and link it to the page for England. This is to get the post score for the Watford thread and not England.

Hmm - two defeats against the smirking Frogs in the space of six weeks will be simply too much to bear. <doh>

Who gives a fig? - until we get administrators in our national games that care more about their own positions than the health of the game, they can go rot as they will not get my cash...

Right, 10% of the loft done - 200 paperbacks, 2 old lap-tops, 1 old desk-top PC (but 3 keyboards!), 3 VCR's, 2 DVD players about 40 assorted cardboard boxes....it's going to be a long job...after all that hard work I deserve a Spitfire9.jpg or 6 - I wonder what is happening out in bandit country? Only one way to find out, I'm off to do battle with the heathens :emoticon-0116-evilg

It's not just an English thing AK - it's a British thing as well as a Canadian and ANZAC thing, a mark of respect for 'The Fallen' from the war, of which there were plenty. Every schoolchild in Australia is taught the Ode of Remembrance (Lest we forget...) regardless of their ethnic origin, be it German or Japanese.

So it's our respectful duty to drink any beer associated with it

AK - It's a bit of fun...I will always remember the stories told to me by my parents and grandparents about WWII....but there is only one thing that I can never forgive is the Japs - I had a dear Uncle who I loved to bits,. but every winter he was in pieces caused his treatment by them as a POW, I will always hate them....

Though i would post this here too for those interested.

    COLCHESTER 2-2 YEOVIL

Gavin Massey's first two career goals helped Yeovil end a run of four defeats as they gained a point at Colchester.

Massey scored after only 40 seconds, firing home from close range after Oli Johnson's blocked shot, before Kayode Odejayi hit the post for the U's.

Andy Bond's deflected shot levelled it and Michail Antonio's header from Ben Coker's cross put Colchester ahead.

Massey grabbed his second with a close-range rebound and Yeovil nearly won it but Kieran Agard's header hit the bar.

Nightmare afternoon and evening thanks to computer technology. <yikes>

I have an e-mail from the ticket office who would rather that I collected my paid for tickets from the office on match day rather than send them to France and take the chance of them not arriving. Fair enough, I have the seat numbers etc. all I have to do is print their e-mail and present it on the day.

That is where the trouble began. Go to print the required piece of paper and I get the message to say that there is a script error. What on earth is that I ask myself and realise that I haven't a clue. Is it the printer seems to be the first question, but that seems ok and prints off word documents or pictures.

Seeking help from the inter net I visit several sites that run tests. None of them can see that there is a problem. I know better!!

Next port of call is a forum that enjoys taking on board problems and solving them for others. Great people who have come across a similar problem but don't know an answer. :(

I visit another forum and there I see the problem that I have described exactly right down to the last ..and /. Surely there will be some help here. Well yes and no. It seems that the problem has come about since Internet Explorer 8 became Internet Explorer 9. So what is the solution? No one that I can find has found it. People have installed it, uninstalled it four or five times and still cannot get it to work. <steam>

Finally someone says that he hasn't solved the problem but has found a way round it. He recommends that I download Firefox and try it from there. This I do, fearful of some horrible war starting out on my aged computer, but joy of joys it does work. ;)

So tonight I will sleep better for knowing that there is a normal forum poster out there somewhere who has given of his time and knowledge to help me, and I thank him. <ok>
