Hello everyone, I hope I find thee well.

A couple of each way picks at Gowran tomorrow, the going will be very tough for most runners, and the staying trips won't see many finishing their races, so perhaps a few upsets are on the cards.

First up is Mary Frances 33/1 in the Galmoy hurdle. She has some very nice form to her name, but she can be a bit of an enigma, I'm not sure if this is the horses fault, or the fact that Martin Hasset is training her, I'll give Martin the benefit of the doubt on this one though. Mary Frances has ran The Storyteller close and on her penultimate start beaten the reopposing Burrows Saint by 45 lengths into 2nd, Burrows Saint will go of 1/3 of her price still due to being trained by Willie Mullins. The key to Mary Frances' form it seems is going right handed, any of her good form has been on right handed tracks. Willie Mullins has 4 in this and Noel Meade 2, which leaves 4 sole representatives. I find it hard to imagine the Mullins and Meade runners will all fail to run up to scratch, but if they don't perform and Mary Frances is on a going day, 33/1 each way appears to represent a bit of value.

Run Wild Fred 14/1 e/w 4 places in the Thyestes chase. One of the younger horses in the field for Gigginstown , he is racing on a nice weight as he is a possible improver still. Sean Flanagan on board as well which I think is a positvie. He has winning form on heavy ground and has placed 4 times and won 4 times from 13 runs. I think he can go very well here against a field of largely exposed horses. You know what they say also with Giggy runners, beware of the red hat!

All the best folks. Have a good one.

I'm off to Sunny Southwell tomorrow (well virtually). My cliff horse has finally been given a chance by the handicapper. Touched off by the thriving Venturious last time out, twice C&D winner Ornate will no doubt go off at his usual blistering pace and hopefully none of them will catch him this time. I still have his 2½l defeat by Battaash, in receipt of just 5lbs, only 6 months ago fresh in my mind. 21 runs since his last win. Go my son, you can do this

In the Thyestes i am gonna oppose you STH with another Gigginstown runner. Coko Beach first run in a handicap got the blinkers on and i think this has been the target. Looks well handicapped to me as i think previous runs have been part of the cunning plan. Then again might be in here to draw the attention away from Run Wild Fred which will be the more likely the case going by my past history. Bugger it STH you are probably right gonna bet both and a reverse forecast.

You would think that some of the favourite horses would come here to lower their mark for Cheltenham but the prize money is sufficiently good to rule that out.

I put Run Wild Fred for the NHC in the Cheltenham Ant Post Bets. His Irish mark now is 136 if he wins today maybe in the UK he would go up a lot to run in the Kim Muir (top 145) which seems to be the target.

With Coko Beach I'm waiting to see what he does today to place him in any handicap.

Finally I hope my beloved Tout Est Permis does well, unfortunately I can't bet him because I'm undergoing medical tests.

Right, this is a bit of a flyer but I think the 3:35 at Fakenham is an interesting race for one of the outsiders.

I was at Stratford when The Quiet Don made his debut when running in a maiden hurdle behind the decent (if not very frustrating) chaser My Way. He went into my notes as a big raw horse who needed time and handicaps, probably over fences in time, and could well be a horse to improve in low grade handicaps. That day he didn't settle, he jumped the first poorly and was impeded by a faller at the first. He progressed into the race and went fourth with three to jump, he was off the bridle a long way from home but showed that he had enough ability to be a racehorse.

He then went to Lingfield and Warwick and got further outclassed, but that means that he is going into a race of his grade off a potentially interesting handicap mark.
His yard is in good form, (2 wins from 7 runners and three 2nd places in that run) he has had his wind done and Bryony is onboard.

16/1 BOG looks an intriguing price.

Then in the 4:05 I like First One D'ana who I thought would be a touch shorter than the current prices.

He looks like a horse who just stays, so putting on the headgear here could well sharpen him up and get him involved in the race. Owned by Mark E Smith, lets hope he doesn't Fall (what? I know its not him, he sadly died).

The forum has put me in a right dilemma today.
My gran was called Mary, My father Francis and the nephew used to say his name was Coko when he was a toddler. My pal in Kenya is called Fred.
    Make of that what you

Worth pointing out that Gordon Elliot has had 1 winner from 25 runners since Envoi Allen's victory on the 17th of January. Also worth pointing out that the Thyestes is a race Willie Mullins likes to win as it is the biggest race at their local track. The class horse in the race is clearly Acapella Bourgeois but I've a sneaky feeling Class Conti might have been laid out for this. Either way I think the pot is going to Closutton.

He isn't a racehorse. Guess he won't be seen any time soon.

Haha... Maybe the target for the Coko Beach season was this and I doubt very much that will run in any Festival handicap. Run Wild Fred might have his mark raised above 145 and not be able to run in the Kim Muir so he might run in the NHC when I had already ruled him out of my ante-post bets.

At last. Very Brave effort to fight back after being headed inside final furlong. Never thought I would see the words "just got up" <laugh>

Mary Frances was punted off the board but was not able to go through with her race when push came to shove, a disappointing result considering the amount of market support she received, which indicated a better finish was likely.

A bit of better news with Run Wild Fred, who ran a good race, travelled nicely in midfield and stayed on well enough, even while making a few jumping mistakes. He couldn't get to his stable companion Coko Beach though, who had the race sewn up after the third last really. At least he provided me with a return, but not the win I hoped for.

Well done those who found the winner of the big one and any winners today for that matter. Fair play.
