It's funny watching the desperation of people that post charts of 'death rates' but offer no viable alternative.

You can't compare rates when the method of gathering the data differs so much anyway. They seem far less eager to post the positives, such as the amazing job of dishing out the vaccine, which most of the experts agree is the only sure way of resolving things.

You have a weird idea of what's funny then ... but no real surprise there. <laugh>

As to viable alternatives ... you could start by looking towards the bottom of the table <doh> ... even the thickies from the ironically named Sensible Party should have been able to work that out ... even better, study the many articles out there and pay particular attention when you get to New Zealand ... happy to help <cheers>

The virus is too well rooted in the UK for a NZ approach to work.

NZ is a country of two islands which is slightly bigger than the UK. NZ has 5 million people and is the best part of 2 hours flight away from Australia, which is the size of Western Europe with a 10th of Europes population.

These countries have a unique advantage not afforded to the UK in that their borders are easily controlled and populations spread out over huge landscapes compared to ours.

The only viable option should have been, protect the elderly let everyone get on with it, especially though the summer. to gain the desired herd immunity which has been largely acquired anyway.

Public hysteria has been engineered by the Government, for what reason remains to be seen, but it is not going to be a good outcome, I suspect your freedoms will be severely curtailed on public health grounds for an indefinite period of time.

They've already said the flu is non-existent this year because social distancing and masks. Under what pretext will they tell you to take off your mask and go to your mates house if masks are stopping normal virus transmission?

He's not the full shilling. He seems to get shoved onto the forums by his carers/family so they can get some respite from him.

The scientists have done an amazing job, producing an excellent vaccine.

The government did a terrible job protecting us, until science made that vaccine.

The government have done a good job, distributing it.

    That's how I see it.

See this pish, we couldn't control our borders like wot NZ and Australia!

We are an island nation. We could have shut down just the same as those other two island nations. Instead we let in 18 million people before we got around to putting less than useless restrictions in. Nearly a year later and the Government are still humming and hawing over adequate measure for people entering the country.

It's been a total shìtshow from the beginning and no amount of delusional Tory arselicking shìte can disguise the fact.

On the money mate ... truth is Bojo and the Buffoons had neither the balls or the intellect to make effective decisions ...

Jenrick blubbing that they took the best possible medical advice when, given the pounding they are getting from the experts today (see BBC article running now), they quite obviously didn't ...
