I guess i'm in a very different situation. I'm the son, grandson, great grandson, great great grandson etc of Mackems yet i was born in Chichester and only spent 1 year of my life in Washington before moving to New Zealand at age 7. Many towns and countries before that due to the old man being in the RAF, then the RNZAF, finally settling in Australia. My Grandad was constantly sending me SAFC newspaper clippings and replics strips and the 3 times i saw him overseas before he passed all we'd talk about was Sunderland and his dream that one day he'd see me playing for them (i was a reasonable footballer when i was younger). I've only ever been back once in 1990 and was fortunate to get a ticket to the playoff semi at St James with my uncle. My first ever game was in 76 when Sunderland played in NZ in Auckland at Newmarket Park where we won 3 nil. Bobby Moncur got 2 and Roy Greenwood the other. Even though i wasn't born there i still consider myself a Mackem, it's passed down through the blood and is a curse (and a blessing) that we will live with forever.
When I lived in Northampton I tried to get Mrs EJK to move up to Durham as I was able to get a transfer with work. She didn’t want to move there. Three years later we were living in Australia. I often wonder how how different life would have been if she’d agreed to Durham.
He's done an interview on some Instagram thingy he said it was all good news and it will be soon https://www.instagram.com/tv/CKevrqbAmWc/?igshid=en3gmb072e60 29 minutes in
I’m not ITK. I’ve e been told it’s Friday. It’s come from a mate who lives in Sunderland and knows someone at the club. He also says another position will be filled and announced. Don’t know what.
This just arrived today, so hoping it's a sign of not only a win tonight, but a takeover announcement too... please log in to view this image
