Think you should start a new tradition, Fats. You could call it “McGonagall’s Night” :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The first time I ate haggis was in the restaurant at the new Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh. Jolly good it was too. (The building and the haggis)

No. I was supporting her campaign for a Joxit referendum.

I`m delighted that we`ve got a Parliament building, but not that carbuncle. Should have cost £40m, but ended up £430m (corruption anyone??), for a building with an estimated life of 100 years. There are plenty of traditional Scottish buildings built of stone that have been around for hundreds of years, and will be for hundreds more - instead we get an arty edifice designed by some Spanish bloke.

Anyone wishing to change their user name can’t for the foreseeable, as someone on another board very nearly crashed the site this evening. brb managed to save the whole thing from Armageddon by switching off until he’d worked out what was happening.

On this day 54 years ago, astronauts Virgil Grissom, Edward White and Roger Chaffee lost their lives when a fire swept through the command module of Apollo 1. They were the first US astronauts to lose their lives in the pursuit of space travel.
This week marks a sad week of anniversaries for NASA as tomorrow marks the 35th one of the space shuttle Challenger exploding just 73 seconds after takeoff, killing all 7 crew members, and next Monday the 18th of the disintegration of the space shuttle Columbia on re-entry after completion of its 28th mission.

I salute their bravery and sacrifice.

I never knew they were so close ( though not the same years obviously ) .

Very Brave . So was the Engineer who refused to sign off the Challenger launch due to the temperatures ( The O rings were not designed for temps that low ) !

I enjoy how this site has been up for so long and is still so very broken. I had an account forever ago and got locked out. The password reset never sent an email and the new account creation was broken too! I tried to get back in every now and again but I’m convinced the new user registration was broken for at the very least a year. This story does not surprise me whatsoever.

It’s so satisfying to hear that the site nearly got totally demolished by such a minor database modification. Makes me feel like I’m doing okay running my school’s e-learning platforms!

I met a lady at the bus stop today carrying a leather briefcase.
I asked her name. She said everyone calls me Vivaldi.
Is that because your a good violinist?
She said no, its because my name is Viv and I work at Aldi.

    Why do astronauts use linux?

because you can't open windows in space.

Apparently Mars wanted to bring out a single version of Twix called Unix, but it didn’t work because it was too GUI.
