That would appear to me to be present tense.:emoticon-0100-smile

But the sentence I posted after Nick is... can be taken either way in my eyes.

For the record without the use of the word arbitration in said sentence that can also mean it’s a compensation event.

I personally don’t know whether it is or it isn’t. There’s cleverer people than me that’s stated what arbitration is for which leans towards the legal work to being present tense. And thus change of ownership.

But **** me it’s taking a long time. No wonder these legal people take so long at £1k per hour. Licence to print ****ing money!

In order for that second sentence to be past tense it would need a past tense verb in it. It didn't therefore you look to the previous verb. That verb is present tense therefore the following sentence/s are all present tense until a different verb is used.

It's called passive voice boys. You use the past participle in passive voice. Third form of the verb. It can also be used as an adjective. The same word can be a verb, an adjective or a noun. Depends on the usage.
I teach English by the way.<cheers>

If that’s how it works then that’s fine. I’m not sure and that’s why I asked the question.

Taking this to a different extreme. Ashley seems to be taking a huge gamble by what he is doing. Do we think he has a guarantee from PIF that the takeover will happen regardless of relegation or not?

Logically that makes no sense for the price quoted but I just can’t work out any other reason for not acting in Jan.

The rumour I've heard is that they are willing to buy us regardless of the league we're in. Obviously the price will change and guessing by MAs lack of actions then I can only assume he's not bothered by the drop in price?

Let's say we go down and they complete the take over, and then get promoted straight away. Could the PL refuse to allow the club back in based on the test they supposedly do every year on all clubs?

    So potentially:
    • stay in the PL £300m
    • Relegated 200m
Figures plucked from thin air but seem reasonable. It’s a £100m gamble for him.

I suppose sacking Bruce and getting a new team in with some new players doesn’t guarantee you safety.

Yes but by that point you would hope arbitration is resolved.

    Exactly.
Spend nothing and potentially stay up. Win win.
Spend and potentially stay up. Draw Win
Spend nothing and go down. Draw draw
Spend and go down. Lose lose

So that’s 3 wins 3 draws and 2 losses. I would take that right now that’s 12 points!

No need for you to post on here then is there? If it's factually off then it's just us believers who should be posting?

Don't be so mean, I was merely stating another fact. I flip flop as much as Chaos on it, does my head in.

You can tell that the takeover is ongoing. They used the year 2021 in the context of proposed, which alongside working, places the verb in the present and to be pedantic, potentially the future.

If it was off, it would have been 2020 past tense.

Just to stir as I am in a wind up, pissy mood.
