4 - 1 you miserable bunch of moaners. I am looking forward to the season developing and Bale shutting you all up.
If anybody is feeling sorry for Wycombe, just remember their constituents have elected Steve Baker in the last four general elections
Because we were bloody awful and tested their keeper about twice in 85 minutes, then ran up the scoreline at the death.
The quality Tanguy possesses really is frightening. If/ when he’s fully capable of consistent 90 minutes he’s gonna be something else. I think once he reaches that level of physicality we’ll have to brace ourselves for bids from Bayern/ Madrid etc.
2nd half was 1 way traffic not sure Hart touched the ball with his hands. Once we scored the tension went and Ndombele took his 2 brilliantly. After a week off probably wasn't the end of the world for our best players to get few minutes.
Our finishing wasn't very good but the rest of our play was perfectly fine. We missed four sitters as well as the ones on target.
Dele would be better off looking at Ndombele than demanding a move. For all my criticism of JM, his bringing Ndombele back into the team and being a top player now deserves recognition
Our finishing was bloody terrible and we weren't creating enough good chances for our strikers, either. Vinicius was feeding off scraps until he went off and we had to chuck Hojbjerg, Kane, Son and Ndombele on to win the game. The team balance was off and the keeper had nothing to do for about 85 minutes.
I do sometimes wonder what people expect, no credit is given to the opposition who put their heart and soul into it and made life difficult. We hit the woodwork 3 times which could easily have been goals and Bale was positive every time he had the ball. Sometimes you just have to be patient.
The problem is that, in doing so, he's caused Lo Celso to regress Couldn't we have them both be consistent 6/10 players every week, rather than one being an 8/10 player and the other injured or played out of position?
Their keeper deserved that scoreline for wearing a kit that looks like one of these: please log in to view this image
Wycombe definitely deserve some credit, there were times especially in the first half where Ikpeazu was bullying the **** out of Toby. They also defended well up until the end, albeit we did miss some glorious chances. The fact we needed to bring on our big guns shows you that Wycombe didn’t make it easy, they even halted Kane and Son for the most part which most Prem defences haven’t been able too, it was only really Tanguy that truly made the difference.
