I suppose it wouldn’t be MA who instigated the legal action of selling the club because he in fact doesn’t own it. Technically speaking another company does which is owned by his MASH. The delay tactics is the sticking point but the question has to be asked why have the PL delayed things. Who does/did it benefit? I mean the PL stood to benefit from the deal directly. So who’s forced their hand?
Exactly. St James Holdings owns the club. It is NUFC bringing the claim as they are the member club. The lack of concrete information is what is leading us all to guess. I suspect the top 6 got involved. That is the only plausible explanation. If so then the PL are in trouble.
My one main question in all of this is this; what difference does it make if PIF, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wants to buy the club? Can someone explain why MBS isn't allowed to be a director?
Then that’s a separate issue. And maybe why demarco is involved. It isn’t a restraint of trade, not directly. It’s a restraint on competition law. The PL have just been “heavily” leaned on. Naughty PL. You can see why the PL wanted arbitration. For the decision to be taken away from them. Which is why I don’t understand PIF walking? Original arbitration (given that legal separation is apparently easy to prove) would have solved the problem. Or was it to big a risk for PIF to take?
I think it is because as head of state, he is linked with dome fairly gruesome actions that would constitute crimes in the UK. PL rules state that conduct that would be criminal in the UK can be taken into account. I doubt the PL would pass him. A bit ****ing rich considering the likes of Abramovic.
The PL stalled and tried to make the parties walk away. Anyone's guess with that. Maybe PIF felt insulted that their word was bring questioned.
Let's take away the "maybe" and look at what happened; the PIF completely reversed a number of investments in "entertainment" due to the ongoing Covid crisis and NUFC looked like it was one of those they walked away from, as per their actual letter. Now, if there was uncertainty over this commitment during O&D talks, you could just as reasonably argue that the PL was actually protecting the club. If we'd been sold, then three months later PIF was looking to pull out, where would that leave us?
If this was the case it would not explain why NUFC are taking legal action and why, in recent correspondence, the PL continues to refer to the takeover as "proposed." Not failed; not withdrawn - "proposed." That suggests ongoing. The PL offered arbitration last year to the buyers. The arbitration concerned the takeover. That route is now being pursued by the seller, presumably after considerable legal advice. It points to one thing - answers.
To be honest I think I speak for everyone on this and state that I just want it over with. With each game that passes in the current circumstances it’s just dwindling my interest. The fact that newly 10 months has passed and we are still literally no further forward with the takeover. Yet we are still getting worse on the pitch , I wonder how much long term damage this is doing to the club and it’s reputation.
I'm bloody sick of the whole thing. Having that twat as our manager still isn't helping. We had sight of the promised land and have a ****ing goblin in charge.
Don't start to doubt it.. This takeover is going through in late spring to early summer... Plain and simple.
