Kedwell also played in league 2 when we had more attacking team. The point I am making is Oliver has been ok in a poor team

That's not the full story though is it, quote from his manager...

'but we will only make offers to players that we believe are fair and reasonable and if they choose to take them and want to be part of the club then that's great, but if not then we say our goodbyes and move on.'

    https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/20202/august/vadaine_oliver_departs/

He appears to change club on a seasonal basis. I'll repeat, I honestly don't know why we brought this guy in. Go look at his record on wiki, it's far from impressive for a striker, actually I'll help you out, see here; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadaine_Oliver it's average in my personal opinion, and that's me being generous. If we go by those wiki stats, which I accept could be wrong, he peaked seven years ago at Lincoln.

Well I've not hidden my view, that we should be looking for someone else in this transfer window.

I was reading PegLeg's view, now often we will disagree on players, strangely enough, when I read his comments, they mirror much the same as mine in thoughts. We can keep playing the kidology if we like, but I just don't feel it's working. If you want the truth, I'd rather stick Jackson upfront, now @alwaysright will think I have gone completely bonkers.

brb - You are not mad for making that suggestion...It may surprise you - but - only a couple of days ago, I wondered if Jackson should be used as a striker.. I remember that, in 2003, we used Nyron Noseworthy (rightback), as an emergency striker -- and he was quite good - scoring a couple against Crystal Palace.........

But - my thoughts about Jackson in a forward role, was to speculate where he would do least damage in a match ! .... and because I realise that Jackson can no longer 'beat' an opponent and get a cross into the penalty box, and with his lack of spatial awareness, I wouldn't even trust Jackson to perform the duties of a ballboy..............

However, if you think that Jackson deserves to be anywhere the pitch, let alone in the squad - than brb, you are bonkers.

I wouldn't say we disagree often on players @brb but every now and again you lose your way and someone needs to get you back on the right path. <laugh>

In terms of Oliver he's now our top scorer in all comps across the season so he's obviously doing something right but Saturday for me felt very laboured from him. He's since been given plaudits from the manager but I don't agree with them for this weekend. Oliver suits a particular style of football, unfortunately a style that Evans seems to be fond of. Oliver can often be effective at what he does but certainly doesn't have more to his game than the similarly heighted Tom Eaves does.

On a side note, Eaves isn't getting a look-in at Hull so whose up for having him back? <cheers>

Come on, grumpygit -- it's your turn !
Have you seen what happens when Gills performance is 'manure ?' - we end up fighting among ourselves !
    brb - think's he's bonkers.... ( I know he's only trying to wind me up. )
gioblues thinks I am as old as Victor Meldrew -
grumpygit doesn't think Jackson was man of the match - he only voted for Jackson to encourage gioblues to continue to argue with me.
I know that brb is bonkers ( enough said )
Pegleg only dares to criticise brb after me - knowing that I'll be the one that cops it.
Resurgam just keeps on saying '' You 3, them 1.''
Timupnorth doesn't really live up north - it's an excuse not to go to Priestfield.
..... and to think that it wasn't long ago that we all accused Evans of being an overweight Caledonian who dabbled in sexual 'routines' shared by Bradley Dack.
