The web site said we have made an agreement for an immediate transfer. Whatever it is..the horrid affair is over. We all need to move on
Asked two Fulham mates who both had good things to say. Don't think we should be expecting the forward passing which Carroll brings, but apparently he's very good at breaking up play and then retaining possession. More of a Cameron replacement than a Carroll replacement. Parker played him a lot deeper than Jakanovic did.
Call me crazy but if we continue with 5 at the back I'd like to see what Ball could do at right wing back. He's got the stamina and can surely defend better than Kane. Don't know how much he will bring going forwards but then Kane's end product is frustrating so perhaps worth a go?
I have read many people who have seen Johansen play the last 3 years or so say he's nowhere near as good as he was. Saw him play for Norway earlier last year a couple of times and he was way, way off the pace at that level anyway, one game he was subbed before or at HT. Hope he doesnt join us.
Surprised how much he played last season- 40 games including for Norway. He’s not played for months though so probably not one who can hit the ground running. If it’s a choice of him or no one then get him in I reckon though it screams just scrambling around and paying silly money for whoever we can get.
Very unsure about that. He's a bit like Amos in that when he's in top shape he'll run and run, tackle everything moving in the opposition shirt, but when he's not fit enough to do that, there's very little else left they contribute.
It seems as though, as usual, we are scratching about late in the window for a player with big question marks over fitness and who probably wouldn't get into most teams in our league...
I think our delight at getting Austin in, and our desperation for a midfielder who can pass and a right back/wing back show how thin the squad is and what a weak summer window we had. Bad luck with a few injuries but that’s what a squad is for. I always assume that a well set up team really shouldn’t need to do any business in the notoriously poor value winter market, yet we always do, often in an attempt to stave off the drop.
