It's not a case of accepting him, I'd much prefer a better keeper, just not quite sure there are many around at this level that would be available and although he doesn't fill me with much confidence his stats seems to point to him being one of the better ones at this level.

Thanks mate, that means a lot to me.

I don't know if it's an ageing thing, or the result of endless lockdowns, but something isn't right.

As we've been together so long, and we're so isolated, I feel quite alone.

Over the years nothing has bothered me, as I have so many mates at the games, but this virus has cut me off.

I hope things will resolve but who knows ...

... I know there are people worse off than me, but that's not really helping tbh.

It’s a tough time. There have been good bits but at times the difficulty looking ahead really gets to you and the obvious health worries for yourself and others. Hope things settle.

    What?

Are you kidding on mate ...

... there was a massive thread, now deleted, detailing everything about the takeover with a video address from the new owner.

Shame you missed it, best thing I've ever seen on here.

Hope you're lass gets well soon mate. Its becoming more worrying how easy it is to catch this new variant. Take care of yourself as well, as it can be exhausting and draining on you, and you don't want to burn out yourself.

I'll be honest, I'd never really heard much about Reivers until I saw your name on the message boards. Googled it out of interest tonight and saw a lot of pages about border Reivers. Then found that my surname is from a clan associated with being border Reivers (well, my name is a very slightly different spelling, but the clan is the Moffat clan, although my spelling has one more T in it, and a lot of my relatives still live in the borders). Mad what you can find out on a random Saturday night on a message board! All my family are from Newcastle and Sunderland so I never really looked into it before.

The Reivers are a huge invisible part of the NE mate but were prominent for hundreds of years.

They're in every part of our lives and there are loads of us on these forums and the names are all Scott, Armstrong, Little, Kerr, etc.

On RTG there are loads of people like 'luvyoulongtime', ( Spelling wrong no doubt.) and others I won't mention.

My wonderful family, in Chopwell, have traced our Reiver family back 500 years and I 'know' them all.

The thing is these aren't just distant images, these are people you're directly connected to.

I'll ask about the Moffatts and whether they were friend or foe to us Scotts.

Sounds interesting mate, let me know what you find out (and don't knack me if we were foes!!). It seems like everything written is about the Moffat clan, there's very little about the Moffatts, so presumably they were much more prominent, although from a few pages I've read they were basically one and the same, presumably an offshoot somewhere down the line. Genuinely really interesting reading about this today, I had no idea of the history . Just found this book written by a Moffat, might give it a go https://www.amazon.com/dp/1841585491/?tag=not606-20

Got cousins who like in Coldingham near Eyemouth, will have to ask them about it as well!

Thing is mate, these are your family not just some drawings in a book.

It may sound soft but if I'm ever in a dilemma, ask struggling, I'll ask myself what my Reiver family would expect.

If you have a direct line to one of these families it's a blessing mate.

Ah the Border Reivers! My surname is also one of the names associated although I wasn't too surprised knowing some of our family history. A few years ago we had a team event at work and out of our team of 9 people, 7 of us had surnames associated with the Border Reivers and so it became our team name.
There is a museum, (I thought in the Coldstream area but just googled and it's possibly in Carlisle), probably find a bit more from them,

Well bloody hell, what you can learn at 1.30am on a Sunday morning.....
Turns out my surname is a derivative of the viking "kjrr", or Kerr/Carr in southern Scotland/ Northern England.
I knew Carr was a derivative of Kerr, but never knew the longer history.

Although not my name, our family 'residence' was Selkirk Castle but there's nothing there now, just an area fenced off apparently. I keep meaning to visit and will one day.

By coincidence our most prominent enemies were always the Kerrs who gained the upper hand tbf.

We are the Scotts and this is us ...https://www.bowhillhouse.co.uk/bowhill-house/history/clan-scott/

We go, every year, to one of the 'Ridings' usually at Howick.

This will give you an idea ...

... I don't have my own stuff, in France, but they're all similar and crazy.

If you go you'll feel a part of it all, I don't know how but you will.
