Thanks for the info. Knew we didn't go up in 1910 because of goal difference but didn't know what the goal difference was. One more goal and we could possibly have gone up?

thank you. in these trying times and fans not allowed to follow their clubs, it should be accessible for everyone. Shame they cant make it free for fans to follow their team but needs must for the lower league clubs

Sounds interesting. I will keep following. no one is a super fan, Ive been there since 1972, put a small fortune in the club via sponsorship and membership, travelling to away games, going to home games. doesnt make me any better than anyone else. we all have one thing in common and thats the love of a football club that is close to their heart. I know folk less fortunate than me, but have the same love for the club we follow. .

iFollow does make games more accessible in some ways. A household can watch for £10 per game. But with 2 games a week it will still be a challenge for many.
Your post has sparked an idea and there maybe something that can be done.
    I will look into it.

One goal would not have done it for us unless it changed a loss into a draw or a draw into a win against anyone else other than Oldham. Only 10 games in the season would have fallen into that realm of possibility given the scores over the season.

On the other hand, in 19 other games during the season, had the opposition scored another goal with all other factors staying the same, goal average would not have even been a factor. We would have had at least 1 point less than Oldham.

If the results between us (City won 4-0 at home, Oldham won 3-0 at their place) stayed the same, and Oldham's results (total points) and final goal average had stayed the same at the end of the season, if City ended up with the same points as Oldham, it would have required City to have conceded 7 less goals over the season or have scored 14 more goals over the season to tip goal average in City's favour.

However, had City drawn or won at Oldham, 3 goals were the minimum they would have needed for them to go up (either 3 more scored, or 3 less conceded in that specific game.)

The world may well have been very different indeed.

I'm fairly sure you know who he is - he's proper old school Hull City and anyone calling him superfan is an arse.

We looked the real deal today, scoring 4 away, zeroing the home team is a very, very rare occurrence, well done Terry, I didn’t think you had it in you.
