Don't want to jinx anything but The Tractor Boys have lost their last 5 out of 6 at home according to Jeff Stelling so we've got nowt to fear and are unbeaten in our league travels this season.

    people wanting PP back???

anyone who has not seen the general improvement since LJ came in does not watch games...simples!!

we are far from consistent i will grant you that but around the pitch there are little things that anyone looking for improvement should pick up on...leadbitter is a given as he has already proven this season how important he is, mcgeady is a pretty easy 'shoe in' as well as we all know the talent this lad can bring to the team...let's look at some others, wyke for most of the time looks like the type of player we thought he was going to be, winning more, holding play better and bringing others in more often, o'brien, where the hell has that player come from, suddenly he is getting MOTM from many fans due to his work rate, scowen (and i might get pelters for this one) is starting to show more in the middle and added some tenacity to his game today he has lacked most of the season, (i will accept he has a long way to go to convince the fans fully but we are talking improvements here)...unfortunately, we have not had a good game/run from gooch and hume, also willis not really 100% yet which, dare i say it, will improve us further.

have i been happy with performances, no...but i can see things starting to change and feel we could do similar to the 2nd half of the BSA season and finish a lot stronger than we started, right now i will take the points from a scrappy 1-0 to stay in touch...the real down side is we had that enforced extra break due to covid that knocked us out of our stride when we needed to try to keep the momentum going, how important that will prove to be by the end of the season we can only guess at.

We won. Lets face it witnessing decent performances will be few and far between. Anyone who expects entertaining football at this level should go and support the skunks!1

    2nd half disappointing

But 3pts. Thats the main thing

    It's a real juxtaposition isn't it.

People pre-match, say we're shyte and will lose, which is fair enough.

Then, post-match, say we're shyte despite winning, which is idiotic.

If we're such a poor side then surely winning means we've played above ourselves and deserve credit.

    WTF do people want ....

tbh I'd take every game being ****e from now until the end of the season as long as we get out of this league.

Fans that are whinging need to realise LJ is not going to fix the team inside of 1 window - this is a long term project and the sooner they realise the better.

If LJ gets this lot up he'll have done something Ross and Parkinson never looked like doing ...

...every supporter should be 100% behind him.

If they're not they can f**k off as far as I'm concerned.

The way Johnson wants us to play, will get more players forward and in their box, however this will also leave use exposed at 5he back at times. That gives us two choices go back to the sort of negative formation and attitude Parkinson had, or use this window to strengthen where we need to, up top and add pace. The first option is not an option, so it is stick with the more attacking style and bring in players to fit that style of play.

Reading through the posts there is, to me anyhow, one common thread. Inconsistence.

In both todays game we won hurrah, on Tuesday we lost, boo.

We could have also drawn both matches.

Unless we get some new personnel in I cannot see it changing, it seems we have an equal chance of winning, losing or drawing every every match.. Unless LJ can perform some magic?

Consistently of winning is the aim of course, but I cannot see it happening atm... would love to be so

    Bring on Ipswich

If Leadbitter was as good at defending the back line as he is controlling the midfield we'd be fine.

Sadly, he can't fulfil both roles at the same time.

Still, I believe we can bluff it as long as Scowen and Winchester can do a half each of non-stop running.

We also need to find more goals from midfield and the likes of Diamond and McGeady. Obviously Diamond is still learning and will make mistakes but he does carry more of a goal threat than anyone other than Wyke at the minute.

If we can get goals from midfield then we stand a chance of putting a run of wins together. We are fairly solid at the back - just need that midfield to create more and i think we can push up the table.

early days but as i said, i can see scowen is improving, starting to show more of what we thought he would bring...a little terrier type player and something we have missed, winchester especially today looks like he can be a very calm influence when needed whether he can give leadbitter a needed rest i have no clue but signs, although small, are deffo there.

I always have faith until it's mathematically impossible. I thought the first half today was some of the best football we have played all season. What happened in the second half was shocking bad! Was it them getting a team talk and us just thinking it's going to be a walk in the park? I don't know but 3 points added is 3 points no Matter how we do it. For me we only need 2-3 quality players and we will be very close to second spot.

I know we didn't see much of him but Winchester looked the type to stay calm in possession and look for the right pass. He just needs some time to settle in.

I've got a fair bit of faith in Johnson's judgment and he wouldn't have gone after Winchester for no reason. Him and Luke could make a pretty nice combo in centre mid.

I know it was only for a few minutes but he did bring O'Nien on in midfield so hopefully that's where he'll play.

Johnson seems quite analytical doesn't he, and brave.

He could've played safe and put Sanderson at right back but chose Power.

He's persevering with O'Brien when most people wanted him sold or given away.

He knows he'll get stick over Winchester but I get the impression he'd drop Leadbitter for him if he thought it would win the game.

Well said mate, for the first time in a while we've got a manager with a pair of balls, who wants nothing more than to win games and who embraces the analytical and technical sides of the game.

    Sounds like a young Allardyce.
