This maybe harsh on Josh Emmanuel, but having Coyle at right back gives us added solidity at the back but doesn't detract when we go forward. Alfie Jones looks a quality signing and great young prospect, making of a good partnership with Greaves.
Strange how our current uptake in form has coincided with KLP suddenly coming back into the starting XI. Just shows what a difference a unified dressing room makes; when that mess unfolded you could see the performances dropping and people looking a bit pissed off. Hey presto, as soon as its resolved, we go back to looking like the best team in the division. You'd like to think there's a lesson to be learned here, but I highly doubt its the last time we'll piss about with player contracts while the Allams are here.
After the frustrations of December, and a dreadful performance and two own goals gifting Pompey the win, that was the perfect performance. A nice five-nil would've been wonderful though...
An excellent win. Put the Pompey pretenders in their place but hope they {Portsmouth} do better against Lincoln next week though. Very good team performance, solid defending and some lovely passing moves. Topped by a great finish by Magennis for the 4th. UTT
Think I might open that bottle of port I’ve been saving. Oh and some fruit cake. Hell this lock down has changed me...
Brilliant away performance. Did I see we even had just two up top at the end? They are just showing the highlights, we hammered them. Could have been 7 or 8. Apparently similar on Tuesday? Can't believe it's the same team who a few games ago without KLP couldnt create a thing. Did anyone else find the camera 'very distant' today? I was watching on a smaller tv than usual, but was struggling to follow the ball at times. Maybe just my fading eyesight?
It's a win-win that game imo. Pompey win, they give us a chance to break from Lincoln. Lincoln win, we have a chance to create a bigger gap in the autos.
Best performance of the season so far. This team is looking good enough to go all the way. Plenty of games left to entertain us. Anyway, back to the politics, racism and meaningless bickering.
Its a tough one, as apart from Honeyman, Emmanuell has been our stand out player of the season for me. I suspect he'll play Tuesday...
We looked good all over the pitch. Long looked assured. Made a cracking save anarl. Back four dealt comfortably with their attack. In the end they were just resorting to long range shots. Midfield were crisp, swift and creative. We looked a threat upfront. And took a highish proportion of our chances (ably assisted by their hapless centre back). Officially moved our status from Promising to The Real Deal.
