What an absolute pratt tonight in montenegro, but saying that didnt think much of the england performance anyway. I think Carra is right we need an English manager when that idiot goes, but make sure it isnt fergies love child,as he is doin well at west ham in a league that is where he belongs
There is so much wrong it's just unbelievable. Same old story though. Thats the last time i watch them untill the Lampard, Terry, barry generation retire. They should be binned now. There is just no movement, tempo and leadership. Dire. We do have some decent young players coming through.
your right it was dire, and in some cases it was bluddy dire. john terry as a captain is a joke and i will say there is only one person who should be captain and that is stevie g,for his leadership qualities passion etc etc,but injuries seem to be a problem. yes we have sooo many youngsters coming through i only hope we have an english manager to help them.
I didnt watch the game but heard we were terrible second half. Capello should of gone after the WC and everything started over. Players who need to move on are clogging up positions and chances to learn for younger players who may prove to be a better set of players. players in their mid 20s will become the experienced heads etc. Look at Germany for how successful it can be.
Its so frustrating watching england sometimes because they just they don't even try to keep possession! When Montenegro were getting back in to the game we kept on giving the ball to them because as soon as our players got the ball they would run forward straight in to the opposition.
like i say uir we need an english manager who needs to bring these young players through, but of course you need experience aswell to help them.but capello as you say should of gone after the wc,the guy has no man management skills whatsoever.jt as captain is a joke, but the worrying thing is who else do you give it to? of course i said stevie g,but he has had his injuries,so what are the options?
Wilshire No hear me out we our building a new English team so it makes sense to have the new star of that side the captain.
yea let's bring back Schteve or get fat sam that will magically make our players better It's not the manager. It's the players.
Groom Jones for the role As for manager, doesnt have to be someone good just someone the team will get on with, listen to and respect. An ex player would be great for the job. Not an old timer but someone young, someone like shearer ( I dont actually want him, hes just an example, former captain, respected etc ). Again I am looking at the german example.
there are so many youngsters who could become england captain in the future, but we need somebody for the euros next year. anyhow how has this got on the man utd forum? i posted this on the liverpool one,or is it my computer?
Another good call tbf. Who of the former players of the last 10/20 years who have retired could do the job. Dont think of the best club manager as its a totally different kettle of fish. Someone who is respected for what they did for england and who will be able to share their experience of england with the players.
Probably a mod. We have a lot of good potential captains as you say but it wont matter if the players dont respect the manager and themselves. The manager is the one who should set the standards for respect in the england camp. Its one of his jobs and if he cant command it then why bother respecting anyone?
Roy is proven rubbish. He has a near record level of achievement at losing away matches and a lifetime record of not winning anything worth winning. Capello is about as good as managers get. For England, it's the players.
Its both. Plain and simple. Worse managers have done as well as capello and even better in the past. he just doesnt command the respect needed. They dont get together every week like at club level so you need to be able to take control from the day you get the squad together and get them working together. This is a managers job not the players.
Exactly. Any manager would of struggled then. Rafa had already fallen foul to the off the field antics effecting the football and whoever took that job was in for a torrid time. Roy isnt a bad manager at all, the job was maybe a little to big for him but with everything going on he was never going to perform the miracles needed.
so you say if kenny dalglish had taken the job instead of roy it wouldnt of been any different? i no i posted this on the liverpool board, not bothered but it has freaked me out as how its come over here!!!!
for what rafa achieved at the start was not a platform for losing the bluddy plot at the end,he just went totally ga ga and alonso was a prime example. as for roy, would you have him?
