    I think that Gills had dyslexic feet for most of the game.

    It could have been worse - it might have been on Sky.

    The quality (lack of), on show, will determine that Gills will need to be 'concerned' with events at the foot of the table - rather than a play-off spot.

    Both teams produced a lot of rubbish. The result was just about fair -- but, Rochdale will point out that Bonham made 3 good saves to keep out goalbound efforts - and that Lund missed an open goal in the 24th minute ( headed into the ground, with the ball bouncing over the bar. )... Gills will point out that O'Gilvie should have scored with a header ( 53 minute - from a glorious cross from Graham. ).................... at this point, I need to apologise to those who paid £10 to watch the match -- and to assure those who didn't pay to watch the game that you didn't miss much....... Here's a summary ;

    No creativity - Hoofball, more hoofball, saves from Bonham, -- poached a goal from poor defending... No creativity - Hoofball - got lucky with poor Rochdale header - more hoofball - Missed best 'created' chance from O'Gilvie ) Loose defending got punished --Even worse defending for 1-2.... scraped an equaliser with last gasp goal ( helped by poor Rochdale defending )..
    ......( I might have missed a bit of hoofball...... sadly, Gills didn't ! )

    I don't think we played as much hoofball yesterday as other games. Think we played a few long balls which all teams do at times. Think Rochdale played well first 35minutes. We last 10 in first half and first 15/20 minutes second half. Akinde scored in injury time with excellent strike

    Both our Goals were well taken - ' poacher' style opportunities - and I have acknowledged them with ranking them above your sense of humour in the Star Player thread.
    Hoofball may not been as evident as in the appalling deployment of such tactic in many previous games - but - if I didn't have an ( expensive ) 2 year season ticket package, I certainly wouldn't pay a tenner every week for the absolute garbage we're given 8 or 9 times out of 10........... I worry that semi dross has been considered as fairly acceptable

    edit - gioblues - I have no intention of suppressing your thoughts - indeed, I welcome your input (contrary or otherwise. ) I expect that I am a little more cynical because I have probably seen more tripe than you.... and, as you suggest that I am old and decrepit, I can be forgiven for impersonating Victor Meldrew. ( pps - I am not an OAP ! ) - my current 2 year season ticket is definitely expensive, and not very good value-for-money.

    Luckily I (only) paid for one season ticket and no have not enjoyed watching many games this season. I have not watched any away games as of yet either. Until I see better games will not purchase away games.

    I made the mistake of purchasing the game yesterday and well, I think we got away with one getting that draw.

    We did have some good spells at the start of the second half when we tried to play a bit but we were far too narrow at times and just kept running into a Rochdale wall. Rochdale's defending of having the whole team behind the ball certainly made for it to be a drab affair. The atmosphere of the game very much felt like we had thrown away a win when Rochdale went 2-1 up and I don't think we really did much after to make a game of it. We were fortunate that Akinde was there to fire home and get the equaliser but I'm sure Rochdale left incredibly disappointed.

    my disappointment was that Slattery, Graham, Lee all under performed. All 3 are better than they performed against Rochdale.
