    How predictable SN23. Thought you might start a thread over here.

    Any abusive terms, negroes, pikeys were not welcome on the Ipswich board. You had fair warning, you persisted.

    To be honest it was a bit much to hope that we could continue what we had on 606.

    Do what you like SN23, I'm done with the whole thing it's a waste of time.

    whats wrong with "pikeys"? i've called various budgies that, (and they've deserved it too, and took it with good grace), but never been threatened with a ban...i've had every expletive under the sun thrown at me by this lot, and took it...

    it's a football forum ffs!

    On footballing issues, I see that Engerlund qualified - as expected for the Euros next year.
    But it was a stuttering campaign, P8 W5 D3.
    Compare with Holland P9 W9 L0
    or Germany P9 W9 L0
    and the holders Spain P7 W7 L0

    one of whom we'll most likely come up against in the group stages <yikes>

    Pikey is actually a racist term it's derived from the word turnpike a word for a traveller, but Montenegrin is not a racist word.

    Are travelers a race then?
    I always thought for it to be a racist remark it had to be aimed at a race of people?
    Last I knew, travelers were not a race but perhaps the UK has gone even more crazy since I left?

    Travellers are only a race when threatened with being kicked off their site, then they become "Romany Gypsies".

    Growing up in Wisbech I guess that influences my opinion though.

    Just for the record, SN23 wrote MonteNegroes.

    And yeah pikey is a racist term. Travellers are modern gypsies.

    Any sort of prejudice however casual is completely unwelcome on the Town board, that's the way it is.

    There is regional banter and that's a different thing as long as it's in the right spirit but in this case it wasn't that and it was quite aggressive.

    Anyways I just told SN23 those sorts of comments weren't welcome and to stop and then he's got abusive so he will be welcome back on the Town board once he's served his one match ban in a week's time <ok>
