This. Given what a dick Rooney can be at times, how can Capello have wanted to risk him given what's happened. Although given he was involved in both goals and at the centre of almost everything England did in the 1st half we'd probably have lost 2-0 without him... Name a regular England international (i.e. more than ten caps) who has not bottled it at crucial moments.
I know what you are saying, but what Rooney did was plain stupid. There is no defending him. Two wrongs do make a right.
I agree. But without Rooney there would simply be someone else screwing up and taking the blame for yet another dire England performance. At least when Rooney was actually playing well in the first half we built up a lead.
Just passionate and a winner. Sometimes it shows through as brilliance and other times he loses his head in frustration. Its something Rooney will always have. He would be a worse player without it imo. He just needs to make sure that 99% of the time he controls it.
Englands Starting lineup should be: Kelvin Davis Frazer Richardson, Phil Jones, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Cork, Dean Hammond, Adam Lallana Ricky Lambert, Lee Barnard I'd put money on that beating the **** that played tonight (Yes I am aware a few of them played tonight)
I never said he was a liability, i didn't say it was Rooney's fault for their equaliser.. just pointing out that that he was a total ****wit to do what he did. Or do you think it's OK for Rooney to kick another player.. simply because he was generally P***** off? My team lost to Swansea last weekend, but I don't go and kick the first person I come across. NO excuse and to say it doesn't matter is silly. Yep, we've qualified but we NEED Rooney on the pitch, for Euro 2012. I doubt we will win it but, without Rooney... basically we are screwed. One game ban probably will be a least two of the six we play. You simply can not justify any player just kicking out and say " It doesn't matter"
He's inexperienced. But he's shown flashes of his ability that makes his future at club and international level look very promising. Christ, he'd be a first teamer at Arsenal right now.
Does it even matter? We've got as much chance of winning the tournament as Spurs have got of winning the premier league... Just play Bent instead for the first game and have Young or Gerrard play in the hole, it's no drama.
Hopefully he takes up your wise words and quits International Football, its all ****e anyway. The Champions league is the highest level and always will be.
