We went 2-0 up, went to sleep, Rooney got sent off for being a twat and we ended up drawing. **** pitch, **** game, **** result, same old same old. Though on the plus side, the biggest flag at the game had a Tigers badge in the middle.
oh well, sounds like i made the right choice then.. still, got the free flags to stick in the car window to look forward too next summer..
Why are all the pundits saying Rooney could miss the whole of the FIRST stage?? Is there a second stage???
Save yourself the pain, don't bother with international football! Hull City is the only team that matters.
I didn't watch it, mrs had a whinge coz she wanted to watch corry, I got a shag out of it though. Sounds like I made the right choice
They played well. But it's an international qualifier which are for some reason getting harder all the time, all these crap sides have got the Stoke City mentality of getting the environment on their side, the pitch is always crap, their tactics are always boring, defensive and dirty and we always end up getting a bit stifled. We aren't the only good nation that draws the odd game. Even then, we were incredibly unlucky not to win. Their 1st goal was a huge deflection which took it from going straight down Hart's throat to right in the opposite corner, and Rooney got sent off for being Wayne Rooney. The only thing I'd moan about from an England point of view is what does he see in Gareth Barry? He's an OK player but if you're playing 2 in midfield and one of them is Scott Parker, the other one should probably be someone attacking. You've got Lampard on the bench who even past his peak gets all over the pitch and scores goals, whilst being one of the best technical players we have, or you've got boring Gareth Barry.
I wouldn't ever have Barry in our starting XI, though if Cleverley or Wilshere were available, then Barry probably wouldn't have been picked(I'd agree that Lampard is a better option, though I wouldn't play him ahead of Cleverley or Wilshere either). I also hate seeing Cahill playing for England, he reminds me of of Carragher, he looks good for his club and ****e for his country.
I find England to watch so boring at the minute, I used to love watching England, but now just can't be arsed, even when its international break and not much other football on, I'd probably give England a miss.
I didn't even realise the game was Friday night, just shows how little I care about the England team these days. The players don't seem to care anymore.
