Your inert socialist bias doesn't actually let you understand that the sovereignty of the individual doesn't equate to a dog-eat-cat society. But your position is continually that of, if you want to be free, you are driven by selfishness and greed when that isn't the case at all.

"The Cult of Individual" is not a cult, you can't be in a cult if you are an individual. You are responsible for you, not me, not us, not the Mayor, not the State. This is not a radical idea, this is the facts of life. You come in to the world on your own, and you leave on your own.

If I take care of myself, and everyone takes care of themselves then there is nothing to be concerned about. When the State starts imposing itself in my life using the fallacy of a public health crisis or whatever else they dream up, and it retracts from the quality of my life, but more importantly, my kids' lives and ultimately everyone's lives then it becomes the case that we as a collective are being harmed by the State.

I am not saying, be selfish, to hell with your neighbour and your community. I am saying that the individual is sovereign, to make their own choices free from cult-groupthink or state sponsored hysteria.

All of humanity's greatest tragedies have been as a result of a perverted goal of the greater good and has resulted in tens of millions of needless deaths, of that, there is no doubt.

 

As I see it, part of the problem with 'more' government, is people use it as a justification for not taking responsibility for their actions, as they say it's the governments problem to resolve.

It's also way more expensive to help people when the government pays lots of people to micro manage everything.

For example a charity could easily buy food in bulk and cook it to give people meals directly, paying a think tank and tons of people on full salary and pension is just a waste of money.

Archers would rather blame government for homeless people rather than help out at a homeless charity on his own time and make a difference.

The same with demanding more "refugees " are let in knowing full well he won't be picking up the bill out of his own pocket.

 

It relates to my earlier question about what some people are doing themselves about the issues they moan so much about. The answer was 'nothing', accompanied by a lot of guff about what the Government should be doing.
