I actually thought we played better (well, slightly less badly) in the second half.

For a short period yes. Without the ball post subs Bristol City were defending with less players. Players were not taking part in tracking back, not getting goal side and tucking in, not shutting off passing angles. Norwich were given an easy ride. With certain individuals this is a rinse and repeat theme. A choice to let the score and circumstances affect them. Its a choice to be weak

Hardwork beats talent etc .. Having some bollocks about you is a skill.

First 10 mins of each half we looked up for it, apart from that we looked a League 1 outfit IMO.
I agree with Cliftons comments again, twice in one day has to be a first!!

Most of Redprintts comments are just the usual "kick LJ in the nuts" blurb!!

... or perhaps they collectively thought 'Lets not run ourselves ragged after the runaway league leaders - it's a lost cause and we'll lose anyway. We can't afford any injuries or bans. Lets save ourselves for Millwall and Huddersfield - teams we might actually BEAT...'!!
    Maybe?

Collective would be the while team, it was not the whole team.

What you are presenting as a maybe is the flight response. Its negative and weak. As I stated mind set (bollocks) the fight response is a skill. Putting more players on the pitch who are up for challenge, who mentally are stronger is a not unusual path to improvement and in some cases success.

Fight might BEAT more often, fight is something you can take pride in .. The Lets save ourselves for Millwall and Huddersfield XI. You have not sold it to me.

You should learn by the best IMO and as a championship side, Thought Norwich's display last night was as good as it gets for this division, something Dean should be trying to emulate, even with substandard players we have. Think I'm agreeing with Clifton again, we lack energy and desire which IMO needs to be addressed..

My earlier comment was tongue in cheek by the way. I'd be very surprised if we'd 'throw' games.

Norwich are quality, losing to them is no disgrace . My worry though and maybe I’m being unfair, as we’ve had bad injuries and Deano is using players that obviously aren’t of his choosing , and mid table isn’t too bad I guess, but he just looks out of his depth and out football is dire.

For me this argument would hold more weight if the manager came from outside the club. I don't believe that DH wouldn't have had some level of consultation and input with LJ and MA on signings? I'm not saying he had the final say, or even that MA listened to DH and LJ. I think DH thinks they are good enough.

Also knew what he was taking on when being appointed......12 month contract says to me, he was mainly happy with the players he inherited.
Can't you see, every post from RP is a dig at LJ :emoticon-0105-wink:

If by better you mean, we closed the spaces better and made it harder for Norwich to play through, then yes we did. But nothing came of it, it was all in the middle third of the pitch, which allowed Norwich to sit back and pick us off. In terms of an offensive threat, it was non-existent all game. Not a shot on target, and barely even a shot, I recall a header from Diedhou that was about 6-7 yards wide, but not much else?

I agree with the first bit. But would need convincing about the rest. I suspect Brunt, Sessegnon (who has not impressed me so far) and Mariappa are probably Ashton inspired choices. Who knows?

A 12 month 'ROLLING' contract is probably the only clever thing that the club have done recently, but don't forget that means everyday he gets out of bed it's groundhog day, he still has 12 months on his contract. I believe the quote about being happy with his squad is a million miles from the truth, the truth is closer to what other championship would give me a managers job even on a 12 month rolling contract.

With that in mind, you'd think you would see every player busting a gut for him, or him demanding it.......Not evident to me if I'm honest..
Either that or as Ashton says in a earlier comment, he's out of his depth...

I heard that on TV last night. I couldn't help but think, is another 6-7 goals from him (his average is 12-13 per season with us) worth more than selling him now? If I thought those goals would be the difference to us making the play-offs, then the risk would probably be worth it, but we all know that won't be the case, so we should sell now!

It's the players that he has inherited that are out of their depth, mainly part of an already failing team, Rowe, Hunt, Palmer, Diedhiou (too whom they have apparently offered a massive deal) Adelakum, Massengo all who played a part last night are nowhere near good enough.

Also Ashton and his rehab team are out of their depth.

    The club is a circus.

He has apparently been offered a huge contract, why?

Also if true that Ashton said there was a loan incoming and Holden says he knows FA about it, almost certainly explains who is responsible for the signings.

I know it's all about opinions and I'm probably on my own with this one.....of those players mentioned, I like Massengo, Palmer and Adelakum....and again IMO would shine with the right players around them.
I don't rate Rowe or Hunt and Fammy is Fammy, does a job when required.
