The Old and the New

Reto Ziegler has just been given a straight red card for a foul on Gareth Bale.
Apparently he was lucky to get away with a foul in the box on the same player a little earlier, but the ref waved Welsh appeals away.

The Swiss left sided player signed for Juventus on a free this summer, before being loaned out for the season to Fenerbahce.

Edit: According to the BBC it was actually a foul on Gunter, another ex-player.

 

Haven't seen it, was it bad?, never a dirty player for me.

 

Haven't seen it Notso, but apparently it was harsh.
Clear foul, but probably not a red.

 

Bale's just made it 2-0 after Ramsey scored from the spot for the first.

 

I'm more angst about our players getting through with no injury rather than being bothered by the result.

Good to see bale on the scoresheet! Hopefully will give him a boost to start putting away some of his chances for us!

 

I have seen and it was a red for me. If Gunter's leg was planted it could have easily resulted in a serious injury. All studs where up and he caught him flush on the shin.
