Well that was awful. Absolutely nothing to be positive about. Beaten by the worst away team in the league. We really are a very average team .
Fortunately the vast majority of these players are out of contract at the end of this season. Next season get youth & pace in the team with 1 or 2 evil physical b*stards.
And that was the start of the downfall - when in the premiership we were signing players from relegated sides and we got relegated and the rot has just gone on and on. We are going to need the mother of all runs to get back into this (I know points wise not) but I just can't see this side going on a run of good performances (and as I said earlier I try to be optimistic)
Bit of a bummer that. But let’s not turn into RTG eh? It’s been very stop start for LJ. Terrible pitch. We need three new players and then maybe. Otherwise I’m almost resigned to another season down here.
Aye I did read that, but I also note that while he’s been unattached he’s chosen to be in the UK. **** knows mate we are way short. We aren’t going up this season and the reason is simple, there’s at least 6-7 better sides than us. We are League One as ****, the status of the club is worthless right now.
You could hear the frustration in Danny's voice when he kept stating there was no movement up front (and he said that a few times)
Wouldn’t even say we are average mate, that performance along with many others was a performance worthy of a struggling team
Totally agree LJ needs to stop chopping and changing and start with a formation and playing a style he can drill into them. These players are not good enough to adapt to a different setup every week. He's trying to run before he can walk Don't think he realises how poor this lot have become under Parkinson. Back to basics pass and move. Trying to stay positive but that was awful tonight.
Don’t think we’re turning it into RTG, think posters are just saying how upset at performances this season. No sniping or arguments between anyone, this is why the forum is the best of the two
I was trying to be kind and not over react . You are probably right. Sadly wholesale changes to the playing staff are required. I don’t see much coming in this window so I’m pretty resigned to another season in this league . It’s very depressing but we have all said for seasons now that we lack pace, power (not max), strength and skill throughout the team. Many players seem to have a heart the size of a pea and hide when things get tough. Time for a whisky.
Danny Collins is an ace commentator, he is spot on with his take on our performances, no one like him imo.
In the spirit of optimism I hope Sanderson is now first name on the teamsheet. He is different level to our other defenders, Willis aside but he is unjured again. Diamond threatens when he gets wide. O'Brien might be some to coach into a number 9 at this level. Embleton needs to be allowed to play in midfield for a run of games - he thinks forward (ignore tonight as a makeshift left back). O'Nien to come back. Hume to come back. Gooch to come back. All three straight into the 11. Try and move in market. Free transfer to the likes of McGeady and pay him off to go. Same for Maguire and Graham. Maybe allow us to do something that will make a difference in the final 3rd.
No G. And it won't have hurt a few of those playing tonight either. They were quite happy playing by numbers, and if it didn't work, it's someone else's fault. Diamond apart.
I agree. Too many of them hope someone else will do it for them. I don't see enough personal responsibility. We used to say win your individual battle in order for others to prosper - too many of these not doing that.
