Just thought I would put up a thread for Cricket as there is a current test tour of S. Lanka then onto India for 4 tests and finish off the year with the start of the Ashes.

Great start by England winning the first test in S. Lanka, both spinners getting wickets, Root getting a double hundred and Dan Lawrence making his mark with the bat in both innings.

Me too, but India'll be absolutely up for us in a couple of weeks time and they'll have Kohli back.

What a great result by India, that has put the Aussie's nose out of joint.

Some home fixtures for different versions too.

Doing a ODI England v Sri Lanka with Askew and Fer Ark in Durham (unless I misread it and it’s South Africa in Durban)

Durham it is, unfortunately couldn’t get tickets for the alcohol free stand as requested...
We may have to partake to fit in!

Planning to get to Scarborough for the Roses match [hotel provisionally booked]. Also four days in Brighton visiting my lad and watching Yorkshire play Sussex.

    Both Covid permitting of course.

I love a day out watching Cricket in Scarborough on a warm summers day with beer in hand, one of life's great pleasures.

I've got an 8 year old son who is cricket obsessed (and showing a fair bit of promise), really hope we can get to some matches this summer but likely to be domestic rather than test matches for us. Until then it's early wake-ups to watch the Sri Lanka and India matches!

Sri Lanka wins the toss and bat.

    Anderson in for Broad.

Archer and Stokes to be back for the India tour.

I do understand the squad rotation but it's a shame not to see Anderson and Broad in tandem - still our most potent seamers in these sorts of conditions

    Anderson's got 3-15 off 14 overs on a batting pitch. Man's a machine!

I think they are expecting to pitch to take spin after day 2, and because of Anderson's age now they feel rotation is probably better in these conditions.

Looks like we might have a proper test match here!

Good knock by Mathews, as you say looks as if we have got a good test match developing.
