I would love to be a fly on the wall in any magpies house the day it’s announced, catching it on film would be priceless
It’s bonkers really. We started going into the BCB so would hang around after the games but before we started using the BCB we would go into the city centre along with thousands of others and use bars there before getting the train home. Live music and affordable prices is the way to go and might well attract those fans to stay rather than head over the bridge at the final whistle. I mean affordable prices though, not the silly prices they currently ask for piss poor lager and pies.
Aye that's the thing. I'm a Sunderland fan, I'd ideally like to give my money to Sunderland. If it was possible to go somewhere pre and post match that was ran by the club, with a decent choice of drinks, decent quality, the ability to drink them out of glasses, and not costing a fortune, then I'd go there every time. There must be loads like me. Instead I spend money at a local pub (which is still decent tbf, I'd hate to see the surrounding pubs close down), get fairly cheap pints that taste much better than the ones in the ground, get to the stadium right on kick off and leave right on the final whistle. I might get drink at half time (normally do) but even that depends on queues, they miss out on loads of revenue from all us piss heads! Like I say they need to take it in house. There's no point offering a fan zone (ideally a proper, permanent one) but then having to have the same awful quality, choice and price of pints that you have in the ground, which is what happens when it's the catering mob running it. During a match I kind of expect a premium charge for a drink, same as at a gig or whatever, but pre and post match they've got to make you want to go there. A proper fan zone could be a real money maker for the club. Hopefully the new owner has plans for this, it wouldn't surprise me tbh, it seems an obvious thing to do
well looks like tonight is off so that gives them until Saturday to be right. And that game will be off as well if Shrewsbury beat Southampton tonight, which would give them until the 30th Jan
Derby used to let you outside and there were burger vans etc... and I think it had temporary fencing up you see on building sites.
guess this would be similar to Fulham or Gillingham but on a much larger scale. Like Twickenham. Twickenham doesn't really have a concourse at ground level - you can walk around the entire site.
The 'Heras' fencing was the plan as a test .... .... it was going to be rented, at first, then bought and clad with same size banners of players etc, if it worked. It could actually look really impressive as some of the empty grounds do at the moment.
Fun fact: Its 25 years to the day that From Dusk till dawn was released in theatres. I thought it might have been a sign from Salma that the takeover would be complete today. Not to be by the look of it. Enjoy the picture though
After tonight's inept display, I reckon the plan is to clear out all the out of contract players in the summer, pay off the wage thieves, and start again from scratch with the promise of some KLD rewards for incoming & hopefully better standard players. Just hope LJ & Co are up to the task & don't just sign their mates???
I think Johnson has shown already hes not up to it why give him the job ffs no better or worse then parky
Something needs to happen soon. I live for Sunderland and I'm done with them for now. I say that most weeks but this feels different. I'm sick of taking time off work to watch them, either on a stream or back in the old days of going to the games. The whole club is a total mess.
