yes but not because we aren’t top...because it’s Mourinho. I made that point initially but with him those that have got it in for him want him out after every loss/defeat and generally remain silent when we win.
I'd argue it slightly the other way around really. People do have to finish in the lower places but can't expect their fans to just happy clap their way through the season thanking all the other clubs for the opportunity to get beat by them. If a club appoints an unpopular choice and sleepwalks into regressing into a lower league team with a lower league manager then I suspect every fan base would say enough is enough. Our attendances had already taken a good hit prior to Covid, I reckon we'd be at 60-70 percent by now if they were all allowed in.
Kind of inevitable when you play the way he has you play. Fans will just about accept it when things go well but lost patience quickly. Maybe he’s swallowed his pride and learned a lesson finally after Fulham given how you set up at Sheff U. Or Sheff U are just so **** you’ll go back to how it was.
Even Kane admitted this weekend he doesn’t ask us to sit back after scoring...it’s the players and their mentality that has resulted in our game of late. Nothing wrong with counter attacking football..it’s lazy to suggest it’s the same as a smash n grab. 3 losses in 30 and still in all comps but fans are crying because of the way we play anyway cba I think there’s a lot of ****y snobbery around the game ‘the way he sets up’ should make no difference to a good player. The strategy has enough attacking modes in it
He's a top manager who'll also toughen you lot up mentally. He can be an embarrassing arse sometimes though.
It’s the opposite of smash and grab if anything. You play great until you go a goal up then suddenly become Newcastle. He clearly got something wrong against Fulham in particular though by playing all of Hoebjerg, Sissoko and Winks at home to fodder. Not many “attacking modes”. You sat back on a one goal lead and paid for it. There was a better balance at Sheff U and you were far too good for them. It’s a huge chance for Spurs (and others) this season with no team likely to get 95+ points.
This.^ We've scored more first half and opening 15 minute goals than anyone. Then we start defending and the fans all wait for the inevitable. It's ludicrous.
Be under 90 you'd think. Even the top two can only get 98 and 97 from here max and the following pack are low 90's if they win every game. More like mid to high 80's this year.
Was looking at some stats last night, your lot have scored the most early goals and conceded some of the latest ones too #spursy That's the Mourinho way though. How long do your lot give him ? he could deliver a league cup I suppose, but at the cost of all of that positive attacking football you built up ?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49004679 Second worst for managers with over 200 Prem games, apparently: "However, of the 33 managers to have managed 200 or more Premier League games, Bruce's win percentage of 28.1% (110 in 392 games) is the second lowest, ahead only of his former Manchester United team-mate Bryan Robson (26.8%)." Not sure if it's gone up or down since then, though.
Its not Mourinho Its the players, they need to defend better when it matters. positive attacking bottly football...75% possession...**** all outcome. Bro you keep that Goon tippy tappy no end product ****e to yourself.
Trouble is though when you try and defend a 1-0, there's always a chance the oppo will score. The longer the game goes on, you can see it in your players worrying that it's going to happen again. Defo a team that needs a two goal cushion.
For the last month there has been no team us Hammers have wanted to beat more than WBA, shame the fans won't be at the Dildome to give Allarsaurus some ****.
